hmmmm, i'd probably say Russia for land and air power
but DEFINITELY the USA for sea power

    Russia has
twice as many tanks as USA
    five times USA's artillery
and ten times their amount of APC's (incl BMP-3's)
flankers :D fulcrums, and superior missile defense systems

China has the manpower, but has very few tanks, only 1/3rd of USA's
Europe's armies are well equipped but small in comparison

however overall USA wins for sheeeer unimaginable dominating sea power, basically they can deploy anywhere they wish, Russia can't

    Welcome to the forum.

I don't think numbers really say it all when it comes to equipment. Russia may have a whole lot of stuff but how much of that is truly serviceable? I don't think they're about to tell us. Their navy is pretty much entirely rusting away as we speak.

What makes you think the Russian air force could beat the American one, by the way?

How much of the Russian equipment is front-line? I know that during the Cold War they had a HUGE army on paper, but they had 2nd & 3rd line divisions with obsolete equipment.

Another big factor is troop training/motivation/morale - I know that things are better than they have been since Communism fell (they might even get paid now), but I'm willing to bet that the USA has an edge here too. Unless for some reason Russia is invaded.

    Air forces...
USA has superior AWACS, for a start. ;)

Ricky that is true many 2nd and 3rd line troops of the Russian army during Cold-War had obsolete weapons and so did othwer friendly countries. It was the same as in Poland for second line troops, most were issued the Simonov SKS rifle. I know from talking to ex soldiers of Poland and a couple from Russia (family freidns and family form Poland).

the anglo-saxons are always thinking sea power because it is for us the
critical superiority , for the continentals ,germany , russia , china , sea
power is nice but is a bit of extra fluff , the meat and potatoes is land forces
with big dollops of air forces because for them control of land is the
    critical factor
how the dependancy on seaborne trade for all essentials and what would be
the role of sophisticated unmanned , long range hunter killers drones
saturating the sea , land and air , in automated search pattern , looking for
tanks , ships or planes , I can only guess , but the inteligence, the smartness
even ,of systems linked to their cheapness is trending up at a logaritmic rate

I'm not talking of secret high tech labs i'm talking the cost and level of an
    Xbox or playstation

    :p

If so they really should have won Korea they were only fighting the North Koreans, China, and supplies from Russia.

Why? Because they dominate the seas? This was specifically one of those conflicts where land armies covered by air forces did all the work. Besides, they did win.

I dont belive that America won the battle for Korea, as it ended where it started so it would be more of a draw and not a victory for America/ other UN nations that helped. Wait I forgot it wasnt a war it was a POLICE action, that why a Canadian pilot is the only Canadian pilot to get an certain award (i forget which one) not in a war.

    Korea ie The Forgotten War.

ummmm why would you put Uk before the US I mean the UK should be second no doubt but I mean the Uk wouldnt stand up to the US's might and Equipment. Take for instince the M1a2 and the Challenger 2 there both probally evenly matched .But even if the Challenger 2 is superior to the Abrams the A-10 warthog will make it look like a toy and blow it sky high . Now the B-2 you wont be able to detect when it comes in to bomb . The B-52 has a 50,000 bomb capacity .The F-22 Raptor is a good plane and I would be scared to have it on my tail . Plus all the troops we have and the money :D
