Not WWII, but interesting news story out of Iraq.

U.S. pilot's remains found in Iraq after 18 years

Capt. Michael 'Scott' Speicher's jet was shot down over the desert on the first night of the 1991 war. The inability to find his body led to nearly two decades of speculation.

Thanks, I was going to post the same article. I'm glad he was found and identified as soon as he was. Still too many missing from WW2, Korea, and Nam for my tastes. The new DNA files make the tomb of the unknown soldier a thing of the past. Every member of the US military now have their blood DNA "bar code" on file.

That is going to remove so much speculation and doubt from the lives of the surviving family memebers.

Ah, I read this today as well. He was apparently lost during his flight in the Persian gulf war and was the first soldier K.I.A/M.I.A
