I came accross this interesting case of a German noble family that had one brother killed on the Eastern Front in the begining days of Barbarosa and another killed as a US Army Lieutenant serving with the US Army 71st Infantry Division.

    The two brothers were :

    Hans-Erdmann v. Prittwitz - born Breslau May 30,1918 - KIA as a Schuetze in a Panzerjaeger July 11,1941

Siegfried v. Prittwitz - born Dresden on October 16,1915 - KIA a Army Liuetenant serving in 71st Infantry Division - KIA April 19,1945. He had just been promoted from being a Sergeant on April 7th. He had been a Wermacht sergeant when he had left Germany due to Anti-Nazi views.
He was killed by a sniper along with a fellow officer.

    Does anyone have more information?

It seems likely that Siegfried von Prittwitz is the same one who was a friend of my mother's at Berlin University in 1932. She mentions him in her letters, and was I believe a friend of his sister.
