No. He was paying about $5.69 USD per gallon.

    Price per liter $1.70 ASD
    Exchange rate $1 ASD = $0.88 USD(88 cents)
    Price per liter 1.70 * .88 = $1.50 USD(rounded up from $1.496)
    Liters per gallon: 3.79
    Price per gallon: $1.50 * 3.79 = $5.69 USD

That would be a gallon. Here in the States they don't sell gas by the liter.

Woops total stuff up on my part ugh stupid maths.

At current exchange rates (78c) it works out to about $1.25 USD a gallon.

    Reverse it...one gallon = 3.79 liters

So yes, he was paying about $6.44 Australian dollars.

But Bronk and I are in the States, so we factor in the currency conversion (1 Australian Dollar = .88 US Dollar in October 2014 or .78 US Dollar currently)

Tell me again why we can't have our oil at our price on the market. People pay more for free range chicken, gluten free, chem free, child labour free, etc etc. Would be willing to pay more in order to support the right cause, like no blood oil.
Would pay more for fast food/ clothes etc in order to give a living wage to those workers.

Yes! You knew what i meant...6 bucks ffity for a gallon! We get the singapore fuel long before Sydney...and yet we pay far more than them...bloody price gouging, the bane of Darwin life...The ACCC does nothing...our own local government took the owners to task..saying their was a clause (wartime) that enabled the government to move against fuel gouging...i'll watch this space...

I'm payin .93c CA for a litre of premium. It's aboot .84c for regular. Wondering about octane. Regular is 87 to 89.? mid 89-90? premium 90-94? ...Buying premium now, trying to avoid ethanol. Seems like getting better fuel econo, about 50 km more per 42 litre tank...The exhaust actually smells less noticeable with the higher grade.

If your getting 50km more per tank, but paying about $4CA more per tank, are you really saving any money? I don't think so.

good question...dont know...probably not as high as it should be...
We only just abolished our "carbon tax" so prices should have gone down...guess what happened?

According to wiki looking only at the set tax per each liter or gallon in Australia it is just a tad higher then 38c a liter (set to rise) while in the US it averages 48.5c a gallon (ranges from 29.7c through to 68.9c), That is for unleaded/gasoline. For Diesel it is 38c - 40c a liter for Australia and 24.4c a gallon for the US (ranges from 36.2c through to 88.6c).

Converting the currency would push the Australian prices for unleaded and diesel up to $1.846 and $1.846-$1.943 per the gallon., Taxes are far far higher in Australia,

Not sure if its the placebo effect, but the higher octane seems to give a bit of boost to performance. Instead of 98 hp, seems more like 102. lo.
Also heard the ethanol was not so good for my engine, maybe it runs hotter. I dunno...There is some really crappy gas that peeps like to buy in order to save a few cents. Try the smell test (not for too long, and outside :) ). Wonder if the cheapo gas creates more pollution... see if your performance and mileage goes up.

Albertas economy is very dependant on oil, and a lot of Canada is dependant on Alberta. The effects can already be seen here (housing, jobs), and suspect it is hurting the US as well...

Why did Obama go to Saudi Arabia. Didn't go to France after Charlie incident. And it looks like the US is backing off the fracking...There have been at least 3 beheadings in SA since the new guy took the throne. Isn't it time we stopped kissing SA's feet, and demand democratic countries not buy SA / Mid East blood oil...Our enemies fund all the crap we are fighting with the oil profits we give them.
