    I missed this report when it was on the other night but was wondering if anyone caught it and what you think;

    http://www.aljazeera.com/programmes/specialseries/2014/10/day-israel-attacked-america-20141028144946266462.html

    a snippet:

    The next day there was a session about the USS Liberty. James Scott, who has written easily the best book on the Liberty attack, was on stage and limited to his allotted 20 minutes. Ranged against him were three Israeli apologists, all of whom were allowed to overrun their time. Survivors from the Liberty affair were allowed to sit in the audience, but they were denied any say in proceedings.
    As an Englishman, I was brought up with a strong sense of fair play and I thought this was a disgrace. It was gruesome to watch. First, the crew had been attacked in broad daylight by a close ally, then they were betrayed by their government and now they were being humiliated by the same agency many had worked for back in 1967.

    Now I haven't watched much of Al jazeera programing but the 'headline' did catch my eye after reading the thread.

    Bluedevil, A belated welcome and a large Thank You for your service.

    A good bit there B, hadn't heard of the Pueblo before...
    I recalled the Liberty incident only after Kerry (or Biden?) recently said our "friends" over there behave like enemies behind our backs.
    Hopefully we will not forget, and it is up to websites like this to remind people...How frustrating it must be to run into brick walls. Surely some politician should pick up the baton and run with it. Good old patriotism never hurt a politician. Obama could use it.

    Would also commend Mr Bluefish for his efforts regarding the Liberty, as well as his time served.

    I read that the president personally ordered that no fighters from the carrier were sent to help the Liberty... but might be conspiracy theory. Until it was too late that is....means dozends of the crew died during that attack without help from the fighters which could reach the ship. Guess Israel wasn´t amused by a ship "spying" on them (as they maybe saw it). Their explanation of an accident seems not plausible as ship was clearly identified as US.
