I've come across a couple of references on the 'net in last month or so to
75 L/100 and 88 L/100, mostly in association with the proposed E-series panzers. Can anyone reliably confirm or deny these?
When I say reliably I'm not implying I won't believe your statements, but I'm after sources.
And does anyone have any data on the 150 mm Kwk supposedly planned for E-100?
    Any help appreciated

it wouldn't surprise that they were making such a weapon.

If you were making a tank of 150 tonnes ish, twice that of a king tiger, you could stick something very big on it.

I can't find any pics of the E100 on the net, I had a couple in a book from the library. One of the chasis, farily incomplete and no turret, and one of it's tracks rolled up but with a section on display. There was an attached article regarding it's development but it didn't really say much on it's armament. I don't know how far Krupp (assuming it was them) progressed with the turret design and build.

All the web pics I have seen are of completed tanks and thus false.

Porshe were making the chasis, some said as a consolation for losing the Tiger and King Tiger contracts, and again had lots of innovative ideas far beyond their time and resouces. The big one for them was that it was to be rear sprocket driven, though the prototype under build had a standard german front drive system.

    Or something like that.

I've lost the links I had, I downloaded a couple of drawings and didn't really look at them until later when I discovered the L/100 references, but I've found
    http://www.achtungpanzer.com/panth2.htm
    and
    http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... en%26lr%3D
    and
    http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... en%26lr%3D

The original sites I found were in reference to Panther II schmalturm being upgraded to 75 L/100 and a late Tiger II being upgraded to 88 L/100. Both of these were proposals (if the site was factual) rather than claims that the guns were manufactured or fielded.
    And this site http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/ ... hmalt.html
talks about a rapid-fire 75 and 88 proposal that didn't go into service...
