I am able to post on the Chrome browser, but not Firefox. Chrome is a really lame browser, and I keep getting a virus warning, which I have to override.

Hopefully (fingers crossed!!), I won't get the virus, if there is one.

Well at the moment I can post without a problem but I had a relapse yesterday with it not wanting to work, hopefully everything will be fixed soon enough.

I can post in IE now, Chrome has worked (and still does) for posting, and now the "temp...." spot doesn't show up in the lower left on Chrome as it posts either. I haven't tried Firefox yet.

Thanks guys for clearing this up, I hope all is well everywhere for everyone. And Happy Holidays to all, and a prosperous New Year as well!!!

I just tried my Firefox browser and was able to access, and post to, the forum.

Hope this is not just a temporary fix, it is great that I can use my regular browser and post.

Thanks to Otto, Slipdigit and whoever else was involved in the effort to correct the glitch or whatever it was!

I'm able to post again using Firefox. Interestingly, during the issue, neither Chrome nor Safari would let me onto the site. I just got a big red screen saying it had detected malicious software. IE8 and Firefox would let me on, with no posting capabilities. I have no idea what was wrong, but thanks to Otto, Jeff, and whoever else got us back up and running. I was experiencing post withdrawal, and it wasn't a pretty sight.

It was Otto that fixed, I just pestered him.

It is a long story, but Otto feels strongly that the access issues that we've had all summer are resolved. We'll know as time goes by.

Don't be so modest, Jeff. Sometimes pestering is an important part of a job.:D

Thanks to all involved in fixing the problem. Mostly to Otto, who I'm willing to bet spent a countless amount of time on the phone with some arrogant (maybe they were nice, but when I need tech support they always seem to be arrogant) tech guy.

I think I can post now. finally. Thanks to everybody who put their heads together to figure out a solution to the problem. Now a question: What caused the problem?

Testing - typing capability for firefox has been restored (at least on this page's composition screen)
    Thank you

I should have refreshed my screen to see the newest inputs indicating this same thing.

If i could find the delete post command, i would have clicked that instead of editing this one. Me feet aren't wet enough.

I think the virus must get to your contact list and spams it with more virus...my yahoo account (which is linked to this site) was spending out email to lots of my contacts. fortunately the mail servers didnt deliver them, but I got a lot of Mail failure notices!

I take it the site was hacked?

Just as a precaution, people should do a virus scan of their systems. I used Microsoft Security Essentials but it picked up nothing.
