Heh heh, take a close look at the grinning Marine on the beach in the 1st pic of the first set of three, as well as the 3rd pic in the 2nd set of three. Do you know who he is? If not? here are a couple of clues.

That Gent was in: To Hell and Back w/ Audie Murphy, Charles Drake, Jack Kelly etc and was the Artillery Forward Observer.

Clue Nr 2) He was in: The Green Berets w/ John Wayne, Bruce Cabot, Jack Soo, George Takai, Dana (Jim) Hutton, Aldo Ray, Raymond St.Jacques & Luke Askew. In this GREAT movie, he was the Reporter who came along for the ride.

If you cant figure it out? you might have to wait till Sunday before I reveal the answer. Remember, this movie was about a famous Marine who won the DSC and I firmly believe should have been awarded the Medal of Honor (notice I left out a word most often placed in this title-mistakenly)

One more clue, John Larch was also in this movie and was his Commanding Officer in it.

C'mon-no takers? The film is an E~A~S~Y one-just not as wellknown as say: Sands of Iwo Jima, Back To Bataan, Bataan, MacArthur, Too Late the Hero, PT-109 or Halls of Montezuma or Guadalcanal Diary.

If nobody can or is willing to venture more guesses? ill reveal its title later today or after Ray post more stills of it which are from Bills collection.

Heh heh, sorry bout that Ray ;-))

Pic 1) Has David Janssen offing a Japanese trooper.

    2) I dont know for sure who is about to kill his opponet but it might be Jeffrey Hunter or Vic Damone?

    3) The aftermath part 1.

    4) The aftermath part deux ;-))

Still more to come and with it, a great shot of Gabaldon with his captured Japanese General played by excellent Japanese acor and favorite of mine Sessue Hayakawa. His wife is also in the film as Gabaldons adoptive Mother.

    Cheers Ray, U/

great shots. I need to get more TLD stills as the one with Sir Sean Connery is good but not enough ;-))

Ulrich, the chap on the steeple is Red buttons who passed away a couple of years ago unfortunatley. He was great opposite hardy Kruger in the fine John Wayne film: Hatari-which means Danger, in Swahili ;-))
