"Well, let's see: BEFORE the war. An air strike: where would the planes take off from? Which planes? Did they have the range to reach Moscow from East Prussia? Could they have gone through 1.000 km of Russian territory unseen by 12.000 Red Air Force's planes? Would comrad Stalin be present on the Kremlin with this 'unseen' planes coming?"

Depends on when you do it, and if you're prepared to lose all your aircrews involved. Something along the lines of the Doolittle raid.

"A commando raid: How many men? How could they reach Moscow 'unseen' through a thousand kilometres of Russian hostile territory? How could you confirm that comrade Stalin is going to be there? Spies inside the Kremlin? Well, in that time even perfect-loyal to the regime men were being assassinated because of Stalin's paranoia... A German spy inside the Kremlin? Hahaha!"

So there would be no possibility of say a motorcade ambush nearby his dacha or something?

This is getting very Hollywood now, but its an interesting possibility.

Let me put all of this in a different way: If you were Hitler, how would you have achieved his aims, beginning when he came to power?

Not really Friedrich, Bigusses last question seems to fit in nicely with his first post that started the thread off...Meandered a little in between but think hes still asking same question?

At risk of meandering myself, and has been mentioned in thread already...on the subject of taking out the leaders for effect..Worst thing Germans could do would be to take out Chamberlain who started war as British leader...blimey...if they did that they could end up with Churchill in charge....No hold on..they did that anyway with invasion of Norway...didnt have to shoot or bomb him..

Is it possible that you from Melbourne, change your log-on name to something more appropriate?

Not trying to sound rude but---we do have people here that do not appreciate that kind of an amusing name.
Best regards: "The Council of the Peacemakers."

Erwin, it is a British pun from a comedy show (I have no idea where it was first used though I have heared it many times) and basically the addition of 'us' to the end of a name turns it into a Roman name (Marcus, Lucus etc), remove the 'us' and you can figure the rest.

I see there aren't too many Monty Python fans here.

    Is this name better?

Urgh is more or less right, that was what I've been alluding to all along. I was attempting to bring the thread back on-topic, but if people wish it, I'll gladly begin a new thread.

"B" from Melbourne. I too like Monty Python humor--but you have to understand that their are youngsters who like to visit these forums as well as Schoolteachers who have written to me in the past that, they like to let their class log into this site because of the better atmosphere here.

Many thanks for changing the log-on name. ;) [IMG]

That's much better, Biggus. Thanks. I just think that we need to preserve class in here. [IMG]
