What if Hitler had not killed himself?

I'd obviously have to bow to your medical knowledge mate, my mind switches off somewhat during the detail of the grisly bits.

I remember reading that in later editions he tidied up the more Stalinist propagandic stuff in the book (instructions from above not to mention that Hitler used a gun during his suicide etc.) and gave a less coloured view of the autopsy situation. I've only got the first 'Western' edition (1968) so may have to check out the most recent printing one day, (there seems to be a '78 edition, which would presumably be where the ammendments were made).
I'd still cheerfully recommend it as a very readable part of the extensive literature emanating from the confused history of Adolf's corpse. (has any other world leader attracted such interest in their last moments?)

Yes,

the pics of Dr Göbbels and especially the kids are quite obvious about what happened.

The problem about taking poison is that I can see Dr Göbbels had seizures and his legs and arms are in a cramped position even after major burning effects. However the kids are in "normal" position and neither did I read that when the bodies of Eva and Adolf were carried out of the bunker, that their bodies were in anyway cramped or the like.

So still a bit confused, as cyanide only made Dr Göbbels cramp?

I think two things would have happened.
1. Hitler is captured by Russians. Russians either kill him outright or ship him to Stalin. Stalin either kills/tortures him and then keeps him as a slave/animal. Or Hilter dies on his way to Moscow and Salin gets angry and kills a bunch of people.

2. Hilter escapes and flies one of his Amerika bombers (I think he had won for escape) and either flies to Japan or Argentina. He then lives there for the rest of his life. Or maybe he currently is living in Argentina on 3 tons of antibiotics and mulitple organ transplants, with Joey G and Eva.

The end of scenario 2 is highly enlikely

 

Kai remember when this came up some years ago and I said there may have been a slight conspiracy, everyone on the forums thought I was a loon and that hasn't changed in the slightest. i read a report that a look a like cousin to Hitler with one ball was the one that was taken out and shot/burned, Hitler had left with a small entourage and escaped by U-boot to Argentina where according to his sister lived till 1959 as I have a copy of the obit. Truth be known / probably never.

Stalin wanted to parade him around as a puppet, and suck dry any useful info and then probably would of shot him dead himself and thrown him out a high steeple window, that or a public execution, but never given to the other Allies not his prize no way on this earth
