.....and then one of those Spitfires gets on your tail, and... BLAM ! Realistic bits of Bf110 fly everywhere & if you're QUICK you can bail out just ( ) in time for your 'chute to open.....
Well, in no particular order, I currently enjoy playing: The Operational Art of War: Century of Warfare Il-2 Sturmovik Strategic Command Combat Mission Europa Universalis II (ooops, not WWII!) (A bit of) Sudden Strike II Old favourites that may still see some action once in a while: Steel Panthers: World at War East Front II Panzer Elite War in Russia Europe Ablaze (On the Commodore 64 emulator!) + probably lots of others I forget now...
Best WWII grand strategy game - Clash of Steel, SSI, 1991! Still better than Strategic Command, except for the AI which sucks. Also, MOH:AA (singleplayer only), Wolfenstein 3D (multiplayer only), and especially Battlefield 1942! Will get Il-2 at some point, if I get time to play it.
Entertaining article on the wargame conducted by the Pentagon last month. The role of Saddam Hussein was played by retired USMC General Paul Van Riper. http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,2763,787017,00.html
KT, I read about that! Isn't that insane! I liked the part where the US military leaadership in this excercise 'ordered' the enemy to use sattelite comms, because otherwise they weren't able to eavesdrop! HAHAHAHAHA! Geez....Well, I guess that is why you have exercises.
You'd think the US Forces would have offered a "best out of three" to Riper instead of just cheating.
Could anyone tell me something about "Axis & Allies" and also about "Battlefield 1942" Oh, does anyone of you know where I can buy "Axis & Allies"???
I grew up on the old Avalon Hill games. I remember when their Blitzkrieg game was released--and then Panzerblitz! Playing Jutland on the living room floor... Does anybody still play those old chicken-wire games anymore?
