    WOW! You had us stumped there. Isn't Avia an Italian make? I do not recall seeing Czechoslvakia having such an advanced design. Hmmm. Shows how much I know. Thanks. Sorry we couldn't help but good work in researching.

    Thanks Julio for posting the image. Great to have to dig through files and do research.

    Martin, yes the Czech firm built quite a few Me's after the war in 1948 under their contract with the German firm. The 109 was primarily changed by the engine which was a larger, boxy fit with a pointed spinner.

    Yes, they did. It was known as the S199.It had a different engine though, the Jumo 211. They were used by Israel in the 1948 war
