If you'd add some spice and Tabasco, you'd have a darn good diablo sammich there Lou....

"Gimme a diablo sammich and a Dr. Pepper and make it quick I'm in gotdam hurry..."

A salute for the first one who can name the charactor, actor and movie scene where this line came from....

Hi Clint-your correct and it is Lloyds. I just bought some more this evening. They were sold out of the Chicken but I got a tub each of. Beef and Pork. Im not sure how long its been available here but don't recall it being more than maybe a couple of months?

Companies seem to be doing the 1/3rd downsizing on most products the 20 oz Dasani Water available here-for $1.29-now all we have are the 16.9 oz bottles for that same pice-whatta rip-off.

Ya know, something you should consider is an "on the tap" filter, and I don't mean the PUR, or Brita versions either. Culligan makes a beutiful unit for less than $15 and its replacement filter is about $12. The thing I love about the one I have seen used is that it is not "on" all the time, so you don't end up filtering your cooking or dishwashing water. It automatically goes to "OFF" when you turn off the tap, and a little "handle" thingie has to be held when you turn the tap on for it to go through the filter.

The life of the filter is 500 gallons, and if all a guy is filtering is the drinking water, that is a pretty inexpensive alternative to "bottled". It removes, lead, chlorine, and that weird bactieria that got into the water at Milwaukee (SP?) a few years ago. My buddy outside of town has a shallow well, and his water was pretty "nasty" in taste until he put that Culligan filter on, now it is right up there with spring water to my taste buds. I looked for one and found them on Amazon.com, and the reviews are great. I was thinking about putting one on here at my place, just to see if there is a difference. At that price it would be worth the experiment, even if it didn't make much difference.

Hi Clint, we actually have a Culligan dealer about 3 miles from here. I have thought about stopping by to inquire. I also have a British Army "Berkfeld" (SP?) system-which was a bit expensive as is the filters are but--you can pretty much pour sewage water in the thing and it filters it perfectly clean. The filters are expensive though and the model I have your supposed to use as many as four filters at the same time-but I find that one worked perfectly. I haven' used it in about 10 years though and thought about getting it out of storage.

Also, thanks for the update in the above ;-))

I use a revers osmosis under sink unit, with a separate faucet for drinking and cooking water. Works great! I got this one from sears, if I remember correctly it was like 150.00? Anyway, great water, very clean!

Hi Scott, YOWCH, that's kinda high for a filter but I suppose its worth it in the long run? Besides an occasional Bottled Water-I also use a Brita Water-pitcher filtration system. Works great for several weeks but then you need to replace the filter by then-still less than I usually spend on bottled water ;-))

Yeah it's a little spendy, but it lasts a long time, and it takes out a lot of gook!

But what do I know, I think the best water is off the hose next to the barn! Nothing beats good ole well water!!

I use a water boiler for all my water. It has 4 liter capacity and the water boils in a few minutes. Then I pour 3 Liters of it into a large teakettle for cooling. After a few hours, I fill up 1 Liter plastic bottles with boiled water and store it in the refrigerator. I usually store around 7-8 liters of water at one time, so it's not a hassle.

Sounds like another good alternative. Im seriously thinking of busting out my Burkfeld system. I still have two unused filters for it.

It was a local butcher Carl, he said they were great, but he was wrong! Got a few more hot dog tastings to do. But my favorite brat is the Old Wisconsin brand. If I can find them with wholesale pricing they will be on my truck! If you get a chance to get some try 'em! Good stuff!

Never had a chicken dog! I might try that!

Chicken Dogs!!............killin' me..........there are only two parts of the chicken worth eating: the thigh and the wing. Everything else the wife gets to split with the cats.

Next thing you are going tell me is that you want to try Tofu dogs.

Thanks and looking forward to the free Dogs ;-)) Also, here in Texas-there is a place selling what LOOKS like Breakfast Sausage links-but extended to Hotdog in lingth. I tried one of those with beanless chili and some cheddar cheese-and it was simply--fantastic!! You might think of having a "'variant"" to choose from-I can't say enough in saying that that was delicious. Also, if you have it for sale in your area--ONLY use Wolf Brand Chili-I love every different flavor they have--flavor meaning that they have turkey, chicken, beef and all with or without beans. One brand of chili to STAY AWAY from is anything put out by Austex. It not only looks like something you will see in a baby's diaper when you change it-but it is simply absolutely awful.

Well actually I have good news!! The health dept lady called me today, twice!! First to tell me she rec'd everything she needed, and then at the end of the day to tell me everything was good!!
So now on to the physical inspection! Not for me....for the truck!:p
Hopefully that will be next week, then I'll be on the street hawking dogs!!

Thanks for the info Carl, I'll have to look for that brand! I was going to use Chef's Mate Chili, used every where around here. I don't particularly care for it! I prefer a chili with a little kick to it! And something with flavor, not just a red paste! Or as you so colorfully put it, baby doo doo! :D

I also finished the interior of the truck today, so 2moro I will spend the day cleaning it and finishing the little things!
