I have got a few new results regarding the .45 ammo. The EC 43 headstamp stands either for:

Eau Claire Ordnance Plant, Eau Claire, WI

    or for

Evansville Ordnance Plant (Chrysler), Evansville, OH

    acoording to this site:

Headstamp Codes on Small Arms Ammunition

I think on the first box 1945 is the lot number, alltough it is difficult to see on the pic, it is not imprinted but stamped with black ink. Imho it's only the Match imprint that is not explained. My friend got the ammo from his uncle's farm where it was found in an old box in the old blacksmith's workshop, so it might very well be a leftover from the Bulge.

A lucky day, I vîsited a young colleague who has an amazing WW2 militaria collection, he gave me some spare stuff!

And a 1944 Wehrmacht topographical map, he has about 300 of them, all the same sheet!

Good show , The map will either fit in a frame or if you fold it in Meldertasche . I'm not surprised 1944 maps are found in large stocks. These were probably at a printer or just delivered and not distrubuted yet when the area wa sliberated in 1944, so the whole boxes were left behind. I was lucky enough to get a SaargeMünd tiles that had been ordered for Kriegsweihnachten and left behind in a factory. The finder got a whole box of them!

It's a left over of the Bulge, my best guess would be that they come from a Divisonal or maybe even a Corps headquarters of Von Manteuffels V army. I forgot to ask my friend in which village he found the maps, I will call him tomorrow, then I can do some research.

My guess is less epic but I think they probably stem from an after war depot or an army surplus. These maps were also massively confiscated by the French army in 1944 and 1945 and re-used until new ones were printed. I remembered a friend in France who found a huge stock at a garbage dump where it was about to be destroyed in the 1960s.
They are also from northern France and from the Belgian Ghent area.

They come from a farm in the Oesling region of Luxembourg, my money is still on a Bulge leftover. I will ask my friend for more details and maybe we can shed some light on it.

My colleague is also working as a volunteer for a local Bulge museum, they have tons and tons of stuff stored away, several hundred boxes of.45 ACP, apparently the "Match" stamped ammo is not uncommon. Never heard about that though.

I found this in a local antique shop. Anyone recognize the tail number? It's in pretty good shape. Seems like a good buy at $25 but you guys have much more experience. Any feed back would be appreciated.
How many bases even supported the 262? I found a link, apparently this is the old FE 4012 restored by Howard Hughes. Cool. Has anyone seen this before (I guess they/you have)? I know a lot of Germans from "The Old Country" settled in Orange County. Some other stuff I will post in a while.

There is also a pretty beat up Luger. What would you say it is worth? I don't think it would fire but I could inquire further??

    Thank you.

I think that would be an accurate assumption, witht he exception that 1945 is the packing date and not a lot number:

Your linked page gives most of the info on this captured bird which still exists - but I wouldn't pay $25 for a post-war 262 photo.

The Luger sounds interesting....even beat-up ones are now sought-after. Any markings.....?

I got another map, this one is from the US army, funny thing is that on the backside is an older map that is void. The red boxes are supposed to be Westwall bunkers. I've never been to that neck of the woods, so I can't tell from my own expierence. In the KMZ files I've got I find only a fraction of the bunkers marked on the map, but those are coresponding to those marked on the map. The others that figure on the map might have been completely destroyed after the war!

Rumpelhardt is a classic , great job! I recently read about how Schnaufer died in a car accident in France . Amazing wehn you think he survived this hell only to end under a truck in peace time.

The Rumpelhardt autograph is nice to have ; mine is on a print of Schnaufer's Bf110.
