Great day today at the flea market. I bought "Peter's Commemorative War Cross" of the Balkan Wars (1913). It is from the Kingdom of Serbia. You can see the crown, cyrillic "P" and roman 1 which indicates Serbian king Peter the First on the second picture. 50 years of victory in the Great Patriotic War Commemorative Medal from the Russian Federation. Yugoslav People's Army Lieutenant Colonel epaulettes. And a book about Gestapo.

My friend's father was a ball turret gunner, he served with 384th Bomb Group, 544th Bombardment Squadron, and flew 31 missions. We were talking about his service one day, and Dennis mentioned that he had some of his dad's things, and that he'd let me look through them. When I was giving them back he told me he wanted me to have the aviator maps, and the ditching whistle. I argued that they belonged with him, as painful as it was to do so, and I told him to think about it for a couple of days and then tell me again because I told him that if he said it again, I would accept. They are now in my grateful possession.

The whistle is British but I'm not surprised U.S airmen used those .

Some German transfer cards for Germans. I think the other one is for poison gas patients and it was surprising they were made in 1937.

Here's my newest medal. It's a Homeland War Memorial Medal awarded to people who participated in the war in some form. 430,000 were awarded.

It's for flares or Leuchtpistole in German . That's a hell of a great bag Kai. Flares came in three colours (red, green and white) . Each colour had a code, but I forgot about those.
