    I'm afraid I'm asking a slight favour...

We have been told that my wife's Grandad served in the Desert, and that he wasn't around when his son (my father-in-law) was born (November 1944 - so presumably he was around in February/March 1944!). And that's all we know

I have managed to find the attached record online but have no idea if it really is him - is anyone on here able to figure out which units were where from the record?

Well, I’m assuming that his name is Reginald Charles Mason?? And that you know he served in the Royal Artillery??? But the only way to confirm this is the right may is get his military records.

If you have more info, where he was born or lived, father/mother’s name etc etc it may help the search

I checked the RA cards and their is one other card that “may” be a possible. This card indicates this man went from RA to REME in Oct 51??

Do you know if he passed away in Oct 1954??……as the info on your post (the record card) indicated a DOD of Oct 1954

His name was indeed Reginald Charles Mason.
No idea of his branch of service, unfortunately

No, 1977. I thought that was his discharge date, as it says 'overage' next it
