    something different.............

What was the "net" (per month) pay for a Second Lieutenant in the 509th Composite Group, as of March 1st, 1945, with flight pay & subsistence with no dependents, minus insurance ?

How much did he take (home)(such as it was on Tinian) to risk his neck ?

Unless you have a check stub....this one's gonna be tough. So....

    hint:

    Between 200 and 250 Dollars.

ummm... that would be the Germans.
Swooping down on the junction, German bombers dropped their deadly payloads, aiming to destroy the rail facilities.

Losey, too, rushed to shelter. But as an air officer he lingered about 30 feet inside the entrance to the rail tunnel, making observations on the air battle above him. Suddenly, a bomb exploded into the earth close by, showering everything around with deadly fragments. One piece shot into the tunnel straight for Losey. It sank deeply into his chest, penetrating his heart.

    Okay....

...now I'm about as confused as Hogan's goat!

    ... so now....

    1. Who was killed?
    2. When was he killed?
    3. Who killed him?
    4. Where did they kill him?

....and, a source or two would be nice!:D

or....Skunk could just post another question.

    -whatever
