It's kind of hard to skin an animal or cut a steak with a shotgun. The bow is much older than the "Medieval" period. The advantage of both the bow and knife is that they make very little noise. - Greg
Those and the Section 7 pre-1919 pistols or Long Barrelled Revolvers, but al require a different type of liscece or a variation of my current one, (permitts me to hold 2x .22, 1x 7.62/.308 and 1 .357Mangum/.38Special I have use a few blacpowder pistols, I believe on was a Remmington .44 but I don't rate them much, good laugh, but not great for an indoor range and I personally couldn't hit a barn door at 25yrds with one
Maybe that's because the originals were sighted for longer distances. I Remember my Remington .36 replica used to shoot a full foot high at 25yards but at 75 it was spot on. Since the competitions were all at 25yds I had to have the front blade altered (while keeping it in the spirit of the original). The classics (pre 1919) were a blast to shoot.
Tis a shame really that I am too young to have started shooting before the ban, The only taste I've had of handguns was whilst I was in Jersey and I spent 2 days at the pistol club there. Even then that was mainly with .22 revolvers and semi-autos, a .45ACP target pistol and a couple of .38spl revolvers. What I do love using though is the good old No.4 Enfield, fantastic fullbore rifle to use. But that does make sense I did have to aim low to even have a chance of getting a shot onto the scoring card
Well, they are, and a shotgun doesn't have that much range either, so an experienced bowman could benefit.
a knife would be good so you can slit your wrists before a guy with a shotgun gets in range ...at least your corpse wont be all tore up with shotgun pellets...
I think I'd rather be shot... ... Or come at him with the knife... ... Or run away... ... Or hide... ... Or surrender... Yup, slitting wrists is really way wayy down at the bottome of the list
Yeah. If I had to die, I'd choose a quick and painless way. Or if I came at him with a knife, at least I'd have a chance to take someone with me. Hiding would be at the top of my list, followed by surrendering (preferably to the Americans, or Canadians, or the British).
