Speaking of rifles from Denmark, here is a link to M1 Garands returned to the USA from Danish service. They're selling for $350 each. http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/Danish.htm I have bought my US military rifles from these folks. They're a great organization. You fellas are making me happy we don't have to go through a lot of crap to buy guns.
Yeah i heard about those rifles ! I know one who bought one, and yeah its a real nice organization, at least thats what i've heard. Yeah Denmark is real strickt about arms !! Thats for sure ! But atleast we arent handing over guns as easely as the Americans, thats just insane !! KBO
It's not all that bad. To buy a new gun from a dealer, you have to pass a FBI background check. Private sales are still mostly unregulated as long as it's a local sale. Eventually, they'll have it to where private sales will need to go through a dealer for the background check. I guess we Americans are just accustomed to more individual rights and freedoms. Our freely owning guns is what keeps our government in check. Besides, who would invade a country were there are so many armed citizens? Gun are part of the American culture. Although, there are some socialist liberal swines who want to take the guns in the name of public safety. These bastards are using fear tactics by spreading misinformation among the non-gun owners through the biased liberal media. :x Fortunately, most Americans take everything politicians say with a grain of salt.
Careful, lest this gets a bit too political! Unless you are OK with that, because I could say something on this, being a socialist swine myself. I will for now just limit myself to this: while you are accumstomed to the individual right and freedom to own firearms, which we largely lack in Europe, we do have rights where Americans don't; and we do have freedoms Americans don't. So in the overall picture I wonder who is more used to these things, and I doubt either stands out.
Gun ownership has been debated long and hard on here before - several pages back in the Meber's Lounge. I'm sure Roel will provide a link...
It's really all over the place in a number of less than relevant topics... I think we must either leave it at the remarks above or start anew.
I have no problem with the Americans and their weapons-law, because it has always been like that in the U.S.. And taking the guns away would be like taking away a big cultural-tradition, so i can understand the Americans. But im happy weapons aint given away that freely in Denmark thats all. KBO
I can live with that. I guess every culture has something of it's own that others don't understand. If everybody were the same, the world would be boring. We have really great weather lately and I was wanting to go shooting but have come down with a really nasty cold that includes both a sinus and ear infection. Have had this crud for 6 days now and it's not letting up. The dizzyness is the worst part.
Thats true ! Well all the best then, hope you'll get better soon ! I hate having a cold !! All that nose-dripping !! KBO
Well, I'm on day number 7 of this illness. Never had something hang on this long. Thanks for the well wishes.
70*F and sunny here. Just enough breeze to move the air and I'm too sick to enjoy it. :x Anyway, are there any other folks here who want to talk about their guns? Surely there are more than us few.
Were going to have a snow-storm here in a couple of days. So its time for me to go get my snow-boots out of the closet ! KBO
