It might be useful for the members to list here what they are especially knowledgeable about, so as to make it possible for us to ask things via PM; it could also be practical to know where to expect a good answer to your questions. It could be anything you're specialized in; specific tanks, planes, campaigns, battles, periods... As for me, I think there's little you can tell me about the Ardennes Offensive that would be new to me. It is limited, I know, but that's about all I can really call a specialty of any kind.
Planes! That's about it really... I'm, fairly knowledgable about firearms, but after that it kind of fades, I consider myself "Above Average" on the Naval War and WWII in general but apart from those specifics I'd say planes were really my speciality and I bow to the superior knowledge of anyone else on this Forum with regard to anything else.
Desert War (especially March 1941 - October 1942) Ground war (Bodenkrieg) only however, not aerial or naval.
I know something about naval warfare, planes, weapons and Finnish wars. I'm not really good in any of these.
Im not really knowledgebale about tanks and their works but im learning thanks to this forum! My speciality would lie primary along planes with naval vessels as a close second. I also consider myself 'above average' on pretty much all the battles of WW2 but cant say im a specialist in any of them. Except maybe the battle for Kharkov.
I consider myself an-above-average-person in everything related to Panzer and tanks. As a Finn a know about Finnish wars and because my father works for F.D.F I know a lot about post-war Finnish army. I get "secret" and "inner circle" information from my father! I also know something about AA and aircraft in ww2 to present day.
I´m the sort of person who would rather know something about everything than everything about something, so I can´t say I have any real specialities. Having said that, I would add that I´m probably more of a hardware-guy in this context. Primarily aircraft and tanks.
After carefully considering the question I come to the conclusion that not only do I not much about any specific topic, I don't know much about anything at all. My ignorance is truly far ranging and impressive. In the general sense I might be able to help with unit organizations and equipment, but even here I know that others on the forum are better informed than I am in specific areas.
I can only say I am more knowledgable about WWII than the average American. If I were to say I am good at anything,it would have to be equipment identification.Excluding proto-types or experimental weapons,I'm not often stumped on planes, ships, tanks etc....
In WW2 - I know a little about most things, and not a huge amount about any one thing (I'm sure you've noticed that from my posts!). If anything, my specialism is Aircraft, but Simon is head & shoulders (and most of a body as well) above me there. My real specialism? Medieval history, especially the 'High' Middle Ages, and most especially the Battle of Hastings!
I'm fairly good at US small arms and some ACW stuff but no expert at anything. I don't post much but I'll help if I can.
East front, especially 1944-1945, area of central Europe, former Czechoslovakia, margianlly air warfare.
The naval (Atlantic and Pacific) and air wars are what pass for my specialties. I do know a good deal about the land war in the West, not as much about the Eastern Front.
My main area of concentration is Latin America-with an emphasis on such conflicts as the war between Argentina and Brazil (1825-1828) , The Paraguayan War (1865-70) Chaco War, Leticia, The Marañon Conflict between Peru and Ecuador (1941), the Beagle conflict between Argentina and Chile (1978), also the Spanish Civil War,-WW1, WW2...
