    "11,000 ton Independence-class light aircraft carrier USS Bataan (CVL-29) in the Panama Canal, October Sept. 11 1945, en route to New York. Bataan received six battle stars for her World War II service and seven for her Korean War service. [1505 x 1264]"

    "Production and repairing continued until the very end , Messerschmitt Bf 109,s ready to be shipped in railcars when the surrender came. You can see how the undercarriage conveniently fit in the railcars, it was handy to ship them with the wings on their side to assembly them quickly. Germany 1945."
