another KM member lost on a Mine search in the northern Arctic, interesting his photo is on the reverse side. At the bottom of the front of the card is Karl Mayer, Buchdrukerai, Günzburg
an interesting development as KM cards are more rare than even W-SS. question for you 2 guys as none others seem to be adding but, how do you store your cards ? some sort of file system or plastic sleeve liners or ? I picked up a section of clear plastic "baseball" storage slips but they are too small the death cards come in different sizes real curious what you guys do with yours Erich ~
I use plastic storage slips which are usually used for old postcards. They are just a little bigger than the cards, so it's fine to slip them in. Then I keep them filed in box facing with the picutre the front so I can look through them any time. Those I got from the internet are stored both on a cd and on a hard disc.
I'll show you my inheritance my father (school) friends 70 jears in the same box ( tabac) ( my start box ) ................................................ good items -> go in the -> Letters Album this is much in place for other things ( letter , photo , postcard , ect.) ..................................................
1 boy from the box name Karl http://www.pictureupload.de/originals/pictures/300408134806_PICT5289.JPG and the place on the Cemetery board Sinzing-Bergmatting, Kreis Regensburg, Bayern
Danke schön Domherr! I noticed most of the fallen there have the same names. They are probably cousins or even bothers.
Ok guys, can anyone out there translate this for me? Ive had it for a year now, and it's bugging the life out of me to find out what it says. Babelfish did a horrible job at translating it,I need help!!! Thanks in advance.
the right side page: Remember in your prayers and with faith (or religiously remember) the brave warrior Gefreiter alfons Reger from Weiding who met his heroic fate on January 10th 1944, at the age of 21, while fighting on the Ostfront Then there is a poem (I summerize) which tells about the sorrows of the loss of a loved one. It says their tears will be warmer the day the bell of peace will be heard at last. The victors will then be merry and return home. The last sentence is taken from AVE MARIA (be my saviour)
No problem, I didn't translate the poem , they are often the same and there are dozens in the deathcard threat already (and more than a lifetime in my collection), but I like the general idea of this one which was very daring for the time. It clearly mentions that this familly wishes nothing but peace and that the soldiers go home. Many thought so , not so many dared to print it!
alfons reger the card could be of 1945-46 like retouched xx ? and he is an ss member ( 50 %) ------------------------------------------------ yes skipper They are probably cousins or even bothers. verry smal town.( from my last pic)
Anyone has a deathcard of "Adam Weinberger" ? He's MIA but normally you get a card also. Don't got one, I only collect those from Stalingrad (divisions).
this is probably NOT what you want but type in death card on ebay.de and check the German site death-cards.com and in fact you may want to send him a private mail as he may just come across what you are looking for E
B : Glad to help out when I can. you might also want to check ePier - Free Auction Listings - Online Auction Site - Internet Auctions type in death card and several pages will turn up, have seen Steribild of Landsers at Stalingrad here as well
