Hi Everybody, ACHTUNG !!!!!!!! A warning for the Militaria collecting world particulary those interested in Luftwffe items and documents. Ritterkreuztrager Heinrich Meyering 3/SG2 "Immelmann" has had his Luftwaffe Honour Goblet and documents relating to the award of his RK,EKI,EKII and Frontflugspange fur Kampflieger in Bronze,Silver and Gold STOLEN from him. If anyone is offered these items or has any info please post here,so the necessary people can be informed. Paul
Geezo ! Paul how did you hear of this ? OdR contats ? this really sucks.... this will mean of course if the crooks even think of selling these items the price will go upwards of 5,000.00 plus $ US ~E
$@#%#&!!!! thieves. :-(( Sorry sons of female dogs I HATE ALL THIEVES. Oh and Erich--try more like $25,000--or more if all is sold as a group. Boy!!!!! I HATE all thieves.
I just don't get it. You'd think if someone had enough appreciation for military items to risk jail to steal them, they'd have that much respect for the men who owned and earned them! Guess nothing really surprises me though.
Oh ah--you can rest assurred that some private collector has hired some pricks to do this and that these items will most likely never see the sunlight again. This is what happened to Erich Topps Honor Dagger and Knights Cross documents.
Everybody, Worse news on this i'm afraid, have just been informed by an OdR Contact that Heinrich Meyering died a few days ago, shortly after his Goblet and documents were stolen by the scum who thought they had more right to them than the man they were awarded too. A truly despicable act!! RIP Herr Meyering . Paul
Thank you for the sad news mate and one can almost bet he died with the help of a broken heart. I hope these thieves are caught Rest In Peace sir
Carl... Topp also had his shipboard made Knight's Cross stolen as well. (This was typically done aboard u-boats when the captain was told via radio that he had received the RK.) I have a replica that I had a gentleman make for me last year. He approximated size and details from photos that I have. It turned out very well made. (I think the gentleman was gonna make one and send to Herr Topp as a gift.) I will post a photo of it tomorrow once I have a little more time.
It would be an honor sir - - to see the posted photograph of your replica. It appears that you have as much appreciation for your "Grey Wolves", as I have for my "Adler". Thank you for your consideration. This is what militaria collecting, and sharing is all about, the happiness of locating something honestly, and above board, while too, sadly having to hear of thieves in the night showing blatant disrespect for, as has been mentioned, those very veterans who earned them through their valor. Thanks for informing us of that sad news, Paul... This is truely a sad turn in this story. It is disgusting how far people will go in their greed.
Thank you very much for this Ivan--and I had not known that that item was stolen along with the other items. Any pictures you feel like posting will be greatly appreciated. And I also totally concur with Bills sentiments--this is what collecting is all about.
