Hi Col, no scope came with it-unfortunately. Currently I am looking for a Zeiss Scope with it's carrying case. Last time I was offered one, the owner wanted $1,000 for it.

Glad to know that all of you overthere are not completely unarmed. :-D Speaking of Lee-Enfields. I had two Lithgo's but, traded them off about 10 years ago. I never had the chance to fier them (could never get any decent ammo for them) so I traded them both for a minish AC- 11/41 dated and just over 1,000 as it;s serial number) Walther P-38. It's fate is now unknown because some scumbag broke into my apartment and took it. Luckily, they did not take my '42 Remington Colt .45 General Officers Handgun. This baby was owned by a 2 star Artillery General who served under MacArthur in the phlppines: Gen. Francis P. Hardaway. Sadly, I no longer have his gun either. I/ve been kicking myself ever since.

I think your Beret is a current US Army Beret? Im not sure because I don't collect anything newer than stuff made prior to 1945.

Carl, can you get digital photos in any form? I have more than a sneaking feeling you've got some great stuff to show us. ;)

    Cheers,
    Adam.

Hi Adam, John, yes I do have a few nice items. However, I don't have a camera good enough to show off the close-up details that i'd like you guys to see. The only camera I have for now is one of those Advantix cameras. The best you would see if I took pics with that camera, is a small object about the size of maybe a Quarter.

Some items of mine that were posted here in the past include: said Mauser Sniper Rifle, my 1898 Philippine contract Krag Carbine, some of my officers insignia-collartabs and shoulderboards, Artillery Majors tunic and peaked visor, most of my awards, and my entire ribbon bar collection.

I don't know if these things are still listed here anywhere but, they were posted for my by a guy named Volkbert. Is there a way to check to see if these things are still posted somewhere on this site? Also, if im not too sadly mistaken, I THINK Otto might have a copy of some of my stuff-including original German pictures.

Otto, if your watching???? ;-)) maybe you can help answer these questions?

If they are no longer on this site, it's going to be months before I can think of making copies of this stuff at Kinko's or somewhere. Right now, I just can't afford to have someone make some professional photo's for me or anything like that.

PS Adam, John, a few items I am very proud of besides the rifles and tunic-cap, are my set of General's collartabs-which are the real thing. I got these from a local collector, who had purchased the entire collection of things from some German General whose family no longer wanted his items. I never found out this Generals name. Anyway, there were two large crates full of this man's stuff, uniforms, spare sets of insignia, photo's etc. The strangest thing in this man's collection that I saw, was that he had a US Civil War, US Army Officers slouch hat, Boullion insignia that had belonged to a General who was also a Doctor.

Here's a grim little piece of Modern Militaria/Ephemera knocked up from the mounds of cartridge cases around 20mm guns firing into sunny sarajevo during the 90's conflict.
Sent to me at the time by a mate, he also sent a contemporary map of the city showing all the 'incidents' that had happened, along with sniped areas to avoid :(.

I've just started a few lmonths ago with collecting things. this is what I got at this moment.

you can find it all in this link: Wereldoorlog II :: Bekijk onderwerp - arneken doet ook zijn bijdrage. (1ste helm is binnen )

the belgium symbols ( not sure of right name) has just been sold.
on page one we see: some shoulderpatches
    a RAF wing
    on page 2 : a picture of a Hawker Tempest Mk.V
the discussion was about the difference between a typhoon and a tempest.

page 3: the card is a card send from brussels in 1943 to Wevelgem. it has got a stamp on it of loterij winterhulp (lottery winter aid)(this was a foundation to help the people who had less food and such further)

further a deathcard of 4 young men who died in the battle to free Wevelgem in 1944.they were all Wevelgem citizens

on page 4 you see my first helmet. it's a brittish one but it has got a abl (belgium army) leather-inside (dated years '50). a bummer but I've bought the helmet for 7.5 Euro's so its still a good price for it.

in between you will see some others artifacts of my ww1 collection. if you like I would like to give you more info over it. but I'm not sure I can post it here.

    greet arne(ken)

I have the same nice little thing... :D 1940 (945) It was made in Waffenwerke Brünn A.G., Czechoslovakia. My rifle is nr: 5835 C.

The reason of the buttplate that also was on some later version of the Original Mausers, was because it was used by the Bergjägers, and it was used under though condition. It is also used as a climbingstock in some cases. This is rare to come over in such good condition. Mine isnt so fine, but it is in very good shape :D

One of my favorites in my collection :)

Here is some of my stuff K98 is a winter issue model from 1944 (i have the papers to prove it.) the carbine has Generel Motors stamped on it. I had a thompson not any more (not pictured) in mid 2008 i should have a MG42 i will have pics.
The ring is a German paratrooper ring and is pure silver.
Soviet hat and money. Money is dated 1939-1944
Authentic WWII german stripper clips. The M1 garand ammo was given to me by a 101st airborn vet who carried that with him while he was in the battle of the bulge.
    The bayonet is japenese (spelling?)

These are the only pieces of genuine militaria I have: my late Father's Portuguese Army artillery officer spurs (1942-1944). These are the only things I was able to save, as my Mom threw away everything else on my back :( (uniform, riding boots, God knows what). I suppose my brother kept a couple of pics of him somewhere.

And this is William of Orange showing his appreciation for Militaria as well.

Clearly these were not bought in ebay, and mean a LOT to me.

When i was younger my mom threw away a lot of mauser ammo that i had. they were stamped 43-44. I had a US officers cap. she threw that away. I saved that german helmet, its from a Flak 88 crew. Now that im on my own i dont have to worry about her just tossing stuff out. I know how annoying it is trust me.
