I received a private message from Chaos_Flame that was very annoying. Here it is: darren just sent you (Jon) a Private Message at World War Two Forums. Here is the message sent by darren: Subject: sympathy -------------------------------------------------- Come, come now jon, all this going on about tanks and the like...have you no respect for those who died from tank fire? i do not mean to sound like a bitch but you know what I mean... "Wars are not won by evacuation"-Winston Curchill -------------------------------------------------- So, I sent him this message back: Chaos_Flame or Darren, whatever you want to be known by. Please do not even guess that you know anything about me. What is this crap you say about "do you have respect for those who died from tank fire". You do not know a thing about me. I have been in the Army before, have you? I know what combat feels, sounds, smells and tastes like. Don't start with this crap and don't assume me to be like most people on some of these forums. I have MORE respect for soldiers than you or anyone has because I and a lot of my friends and family were or are soldiers. Please do not send me a message again unless it is an apology. Jon I do not appreciate messages from these holier-than-thou people. What do you know about war Chaos_Flame? I am telling you in the nicest way, to please do not send me another message or even talk to me again on this or any other forum, unless you grow up and think before you spout any further crap from your mouth. Do you understand me, young man? Jon
Jon, this seems to be common on many forums. Those who have not been in the lilitary have no idea what it is like. Yet, while many, like alot on here, always pay respects to those that have served, and do not jump to concusions. here are always others that will. A while back, at the onwar forum, we were discussing the Israeli problem. I critisised Israeli methods. And one guy replied that i would not say that if i had faced a crowd of rioters throwing petrol bomds. Or if i had seen the victims of these crimes. When i pointd out that i had spent 4 years in Ulster facing petrol bombs and rioters, and that i had seen the results of mass murder in Bosnia, he offered what can only be descrided as a feeble apology. having spent the last 7 years in an armoured inf unit, i know what its like being stuck in an armoured vehicle, though fortunatly i have not seen what happens when one is hit. But for all the idiots, there are a dozen decent civvys who repect what we do. good on you mate.
Jon, Please contact me immediately if this happens again, I will ban anyone from his IP if such moronic comments continue. I have the most respect for our servicemen, and I take personal offence when others do not.
Thank you, Bish and Otto! I have never doubted the respect that the majority of posters on this forum have. In my anger at this individual I typed up a hasty post that I now realize could be taken the wrong way by the GOOD POSTERS. I was infuriated when this individual insinuated that I have no respect for the soldiers and am only interested in specs and the like. To be sent a message, with a very sarcastic tone by someone who is probably eduacated by the television and the internet and who is most likely still wet behind the ears, is a very annoying experience. Thank you guys for your understanding. I will let you know Otto, if this happens again. Bish, you have my respect, you guys are the best! Good luck to all our boys in Afghanistan! Jon
I must say that i am enlisting next year in the Royal Australian Corps of Military Police. I have studied armoured warfare-and thankfully-i cannot say i have heard the screams of men being cooked inside their AFVs and i hope i never have to-good luck to all our servicemen who keep our world safe-and a special rememberance to the US Rangers who died in Operation Anaconda last week-they held true to their creed-lets continue their fight
And thanks to our Australian comrades---you guys have a big job at keeping that part of the world as safe as can be.
There will always be these idiots, who are usually very young and are exactly what they are condemning... fools who think they know everything about the military although they have never been near a gun.
