This is unbelieveable. I just got a pop-up ad for adult and child-sized russian surplus gasmasks. I swear to god, an icon in the corner said "as seen on tv". Then is said "Gas masks are not important until you need them."
Bizarre but not really......I've gotten at least 50 strange e-mails since the opening phase for purchases of all sorts of odd things including life insurance.... are people running scared or is this just low-lifes making monies off of peoples miseries ?
Lot of people have surplus gas masks from 9-11, when they glutted the civilian market for them. As for all the duct tape and plastic sheeting, I think they're going to be stuck with that stuff for a long time. Although, you never know. As the old saying goes, "No one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of the American public." Doc: Thanks. The ointment worked!
At least I'm not brainwashed by all the money E.U. makes from Iraq. It is no secret that if Saddam stays in power E.U. continues to make money. </font>[/QUOTE]Please tell me how? Oh, BTW who gets the oil is exporting? Gues who????
Interesting. Knight, can you provide a source that talks about U.S allowing Iraq to make an attack on Kuwait. I can't find any.
April Glaspie said that U.S will not attack Iraq if there will be a war with Iraq and Kuwait. It was U.N. that wanted to liberate Kuwait not U.S. alone. [ 21. March 2003, 03:49 PM: Message edited by: VYACHESLAV ]
Then: As the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Glaspie was blamed by some for allegedly implying to Saddam Hussein that the U.S. would not react forcibly to an Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. Now: As of April 2000, Glaspie was the U.S. Consul General to South Africa. http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/gulf.war/updates/personalities/
U.S did not care, but the U.N. wanted this to end. [ 21. March 2003, 04:33 PM: Message edited by: VYACHESLAV ]
ok guys.......ssssshhhhhhhhh....... hey, anybody notice this. Ever since the first raids on Friday, Baghdad has been leaving it's lights on all night. What's this ? no black out ? Interesting too if you have been able to watch some of these evening clips, the local populace for those that drive have been very casual driving along the roads. No-one seems to be getting anywhere real quick to be under cover....
Lets keep this thred to the current war with Iraq. Anybody else but me think its funny the wars called opperation Iraqie freedom, and theere blowing the hell out of them? Anyways, I am happy that the USA is doing this, dissipointed in my government. Also heard this "Elite Republican Guard" is in surrender talks.
Erich – Old style bombing relied heavily – sometimes exclusively – on being able to see the target. Hence bombing at night, turn off the lights and even devise false light-fields to fool the enemy. The stuff going down in Iraq is ‘smart’. Targets are pre-pinpointed by Global Positioning Satellites and logged. Instruments are telling the pilot their height, speed, angle of approach, etc, and the several computers takes it all in, directs them, and tells them when to release if not releases for them. Most cabin data is duplicated back at base so to varying degrees the planes can be almost ‘flown by wire’ with the crew more or less just monitoring what’s going on. The forces have made much of telling the Iraqi people they are after Sadman and co and not Joe Public. Therefore by regular houses leaving their lights on, it is hoped pilots can see and distinguish residential areas for military/political targets. Ergo, light the town, show Sadman’s palaces etc, and pray care is used to pop the correct targets. If the residential areas were the target, a daytime carpet bombing mission or two would do it. AAA fire is useless against B52’s and Cruise’s is it not. You can turn all the lights off, but it only increases the prospect of getting hit by mistake. No.9
