    Alright V-Slav:
Where was America when the Belgians were fighting with every ounce of their body in World War 1. and where in World War Two?
I respect the America, and its Military, very very much, but dont be givin cheap shots to Belgains.
    Sorry for the Off topic.

Man you guys ! I didn't come back on here this afternoon to babysit......comprehende' ? this has to stop NOW ! I thought I made it clear that the personals were to stop and to think before we act out our postings. If you want to rage then send a private then work it out. the plan is to delete personal abuses and as Carl said they will no longer be tolerated. there is going to be some problems because a complete post has to be abandoned while there may be some useful information there in, so some follow-up's will not make sense. This is better than deleting multiple pages of posts or the whole thread altogether. The Iraq situation is all so relevent to our lives today obviously. Sure don't see any other of the forums upsetting us so much, and the inner feelings coming out. I am saddened to see the anti-American and Anti-British feelings present here as we ourselves from this board are not the cause of the situation overseas. Landblasting each other is getting us nowhere at all and can bring this ww 2 forums down and possibly worse.....

be civil for Heaven's sake !

Am I alone in thinking that 'Operation Iraqi Freedom' is just far too cliched to be taken seriously? The same goes for 'Operation Infinite Justice' and 'Operation Enduring Freedom' in Afghanistan.

No, you're not the only one! I also have huge doubts about the real meaning of the war and also about the ridiculous names.

If Bush really means what the name of the operation says, then he has a very small world view.

By way of comparison, the UK's Ministry of Defence tends to stick to names for operations that don't reveal anything about the MoD's intentions or motivations - IIRC the MoD's codename for operations in Afghanistan against the Taliban was Operation Ptarmigan (a bird) and current operations in Iraq are referred to as Operation Telic.

(The MoD's info page for Operation Telic is at http://www.operations.mod.uk/telic/index.htm - some of the photographs are very interesting, and some useful information is available.)

The same would apply to the name of this mission.
