Everything that I would really want to change would seriously risk messing up the present. Think about it, no Shoah, well that would mean Nazi ideology was drastically different and so things may have happened very differently. To be honest the only thing I would change would be my grandfather throwing all the stuff he picked up (pistols, bayonets etc) over the side of the boat he came home in.

I can't help thinking that this depends on how selfish you are. What I mean is that if there had been no WW2 there is no way on earth that any of us would exist (think about it, how many of our ancestors met because of the war, were kept apart because of the war thus not marrying or having kids earlier, there are so many smaller factors too that would change the time that our ancestors were conceived so that they would not have been born but someone else would have in their place), then again does ones own existance mean more than the milions of deaths WW2 brought?

Agreed, but I'm sure SOMETHING just as terrible would have happened. But I don't want to start an enormous philisophical debate. This could go on for ever. I guess teh only reasonable or halfway realistic wish I could have would be an earlier surrender of the axis.

    No Japanese War Crimes.
I mean, teh shoah was a terribel thing but think of how different circumstances wouldv'e been had the Nazi theology not dictated that Jews were hated.....the possibilities are endless. At least by wishing away Japanese War Crimes, I can spare many innocent, and many brave men...and not change state policy.
I literally want to vomit everytime I look at a picture cncerning the Holocaust-but what would happen if tehre was no holocaust???

So..... the people of Britain would starve, while the people of Canada, allied African nations, Australia would die trying to feed them?

To that I would add that none of the 300 Uboats had crews on them--so they would all just be sitting there like floating targets. All the crews would be elsewhere so nobody on either side would get hurt.

Jet, this is very admirable but one problem... if there was no WWII then none of us would be able to share our different opinions or get to kno9w each other? Now wouldn't that be a shame? [IMG]

No allied dominated Europe, it would have been all facist Germany. Also the Soviets only really invaded one country, worthless Afganistan (and that was in support of the communist already there) after WW2, so I dont think they were really so evil.
