Could we have a medal of honor to go along with the "Victoria Cross" and "Ritterkreuz" ?

    Just a suggestion,

Best thing to do is to ask Otto or Peppy--those two have the "computer powers" to do that stuff. [IMG]

I just saw this, great suggestion DB. I'm working right now to add the MOH to the smiley queue.

I made two small upgrades to the smileys:

First, I improved the look of the Victoria Cross and the Knight's Gross. [IMG] [IMG] Second, I added a new smiley, the Congressional Medal of Honor . [IMG]

More smileys are on the way... [IMG]

I do like the new Medal of Honour, but the Knight's Cross now seems like an Iron Cross Ist Class (but I have no problems with that, though)...

Thanks for the hard work, Otto! ;)

Good job Otto but, I have to agree with Erich and Friend on the Knights Cross, it DOES look only like an EK1.

Nice job on the MoH. [IMG]

The reason for my 2nd post is not to pad my number but to make this request a seperate item.

Please make a Pour le Merite as an smily. Another I thought would be cool is if you could do that with a Uboat badge as well.

    An idea.....

If your adding some smilies, how about making them GERMAN badges for icons?

Wound badge all three grades, Luft Pilots Badge, Panzer Assault badge Bronze and silver, Fallschirmjager jump badge, Destroyer badge, Infantry Assault badges bronze for regular infantry units, silver for panzergrenadiers.

If space is needed, just keep one actually "smiling" smily, keep the angry one, and replace the others with th above mentioned badges.

    Whats your thoughts?

I agree with all three of you, I'll return the RK and the VC to their original images, thay are a little too cumbersome this new way.

    Carl
I don't think I can justify changing all the smileys to german awards. This is after all a comprehensive WWII history site, I don't want to exclude any one nation. As well, if I replaced all the smileys with awards, they all the meaning of many older posts would seem odd. As instead of winking smiley, they might be a wound badge or something else.

As far as the graemlins/smileys go, there are a great many in the works, and we will eventually have about 100 to choose from.

I've recreated the VC and the RK graemlins to look more like the true medals. I like these ones better. [IMG]

Hi Otto, actually what I was thinking was, that have a good several or so awards made available but, let a person so choose which they want to "earn" and or let them pick them out from a large pool of awards.

For instance, here is what I propose:

Strike all current awards, I mean not totally but, put them into a country of origin pool and when a person gets to a required number of postings to get an award, let them then have access to a hidden awards pool, and let them pick one country to get awards from, and only one at a time of course (unless you started something like this now and take me for instance, i'd drop the majority of what I had for German combat awards since I like those the best, and including forign awards Germans could recieve.

Ok so if a person who has not got their first award yet but is eligable for one, then they have an icon to click on and the hidden pool of awards pops up, they then have to choose a country (i'd say having 7 in total which would represent the main allies and axis players)

Once a country is chosen by clicking the link or icon, then the person gets to view what awards of that country he can "earn" and can click on one and once chosen, the choice cannot be changed. Have this set up just like doing a Poll. You know--having the circle you click on when picking the award you want just like picking your choice in a Poll.

    How about something like this?

Also on German choices, you KNOW I am biased. ;)
