The only extra news I heard was that they are supposed to be releasing pictures today--I wonder if we here will get to see them since we didn't get to really see anything else.

I didn't hear the news conference but have been reading up on various stories online. It seems that the 14 year old son Mustafa was the last to die.

The three adults were killed in the barrage of TOW missles and that Mustafa fired on American troops when they went in to clean out the building. They shot him dead.

They also captured number 11 on the deck of cards of the 55 most wanted.

I heard that fighters loyal to Saddam are vowing to avenge the deaths of Saddams two sons. I hope that the situation in Iraq does calm down very quickly. American Soldiers are being killed on an almost daily basis, it's such a shame but with the deaths of the two sons lets hope that it will be the beginning of the end of the ongoing violence.

It might get worse before it gets better, but I'm sure this is much better in the long-run!

The deaths of these two obscene buggers is welcome, and so will the ulitimate outcome to their father. But dont expect to see a downturn in the coalition killings.

These 6 man teams are something that was orginised long ago, and dont rely on Husseins influence.

The 6 Rmps from my own mob killed last month had nothing to do with the Hussein madness.

The killings will go on Im afraid, this is reminding me too much of Algeria and the French, not the politics behind it but the gueiralla actions and support. Too many seem glad to see the killings when they happen in the streets, hope Im wrong but even when the eventual death of the bugger himself occures, I think anyone who believes all will then be well is deluding themselves.

I have to agree with you mate. I don't think the killings are going to stop at all--even with the madmen dead and hopefully soon to be dead.

I saw the building after it was shot up-BA BOOM goes US military technology. It was an utter shambles the shell that was left!!!
Are they really dead though, because we all remember how many times Saddam died in the war!!!

It seems they are dead because those individuals claimed that they would avenge their deaths, not that they were safe and sound or something like that that was said after the raids to get Saddam in the opening phase of the war.

News travels fast underground I'm sure.

Anyone remember the outcry by U.S. officials and military speakers when free TV network stations aired footage of killed U.S. soldiers in March?

    Hypocrisy all around.

    Cheers,

What? You hate to admit your agreeing with Andy? Martin I thought you were the Big brother Cameron of these forums mate...Sorry kidding..

I think the argument on the pictures being shown, is going to run for a while.

The opposite aragument I thnk will go along the lines that it could be construed diffently as the Americans were soldiers and under Geneva convention rules etc etc, and the sons were in fact not soldeiers, not my view, I dont want to see any pictures on front pages of dead people, just been weekly shopping and had to explain to 2 young nieces what they were blazened all over the entrancce to the supermarket.

Think the Front page of todays Independant goes someway to an alternative view though. Explaining how we in the west are not as cushioned to this sort of thing, that is an occasional dare I say daily front page in papers in Palestine authority or Iraq itself, and many other nations.

We are not as sanatised, and thats why we seem to discuss warfare sometimes in a nonechelant way.

Again, I reiterate, Im not for seeing dead bodies of anyone on front pages.

If people in Iraq felt the need for some sort of visual confirmation then putting the pics on front page of the Daily Mail or whatever in UK or Der Blind??? In Germany serves no purpose.

..it's just that Andy and I can often be found in a corner of the Forum, brawling over the role of Bomber Command... ;)

No, I do not agree with the showing of the photos nor the 'crowing' by Western politicians ( eg Tony 'great news' Blair ). I know that one can say, ah yes, but we need to prove to the Iraqis that the regime threat has been removed etc etc but to me, lowering yourself to the level of your opponent in this case and at this time ( with the 'war' supposedly over ) is just not acceptable.

Sorry, but there it is... [IMG]

I see nothing wrong with parading two murdering madmen's dead bodies around. (PERSUASION)

Completly diffent from U.S. soldiers who died liberating a country.

I don't see how that relation could even be made.
