My last live concert was in 1994 or so. It was with Tina Turner, Joe Cocker and some others.

U2 last night was great. The audience was also excellent, before the gig the crowd did the "Mexican wave" some 20 times, and during the concert everybody was dancing and when Bono let the crowd sing the lyrics, they also did. Awesome sight as I was watching from a higher position when 50,000 people were waving, dancing and singing. :)

Celtic Women last Wednesday. Us and our 20'something kids - we all enjoyed it. Great voices.

Just attended my first Music Festival - V Fest @ Weston Park. Excellent weekend - Florence + The Machine, Paloma Faith and Feeder stand out acts. Also great to see Madness enjoying a revival.

I listened to a local Gospel Bluegrass band at my church last night, at least until I was called out to fight a house fire.

The band is a family of five children, ages 6-22 and their father, with mom running the sound board. They are so good and are not your typical bluegrass band. The father plays rhythm and lead guitar; the eldest son (22), bass guitar, left-handed; the oldest daughter (20), cello; the next two daughters (17 & 15) keyboards and mandolin; the youngest son (9), fiddle; and the 6 year old daughter, mandolin & ukulele. All sing lead & backup vocals. They are very good and have only been playing for about 2 years, but have earned a good following in the area.

Last live music I heard....was me! Although it wasn't very good...or fast...or played correctly...I'm slowly learning the guitar.

That's done here in the US at all football games too, our football, not kickball. We just call it the wave.

Would have been Aerosmith with opening act Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on Sept 12, but tonight from our hotel room in Costa Rica we clearly heard the entire Bon Jovi concert, complete with 80,000 plus singing along!

Just bought four tickets to see RUSH next May. Interesting that almost all the tickets were sold in one day, and after fifteen minutes no more stage level seats were available. There are more Rush fans in Finland than I ever thought possible... :)

Must say I'm surprised at who saw what. I honestly thought some of you were like 97 and had to be helped to their computers.lol. My last biggie was Edmonton folk festival 97? John Prine stands out from that 3 day party. Another dude from Australia was really good- Paul Kelly.

RUSH !! They're pretty awesome eh !! I've been keeping track of that lil ol Canadian band since Neil came off his hiatus. Can't say I'm too fond of their recent sound, although I understand that they did the Moving Pictures album on their last tour.

    Anyway....

Last band I saw in concert was ABBA. I saw them 8 months ago in Houston and they were AWESOME !!! Five thumbs up !!
They just played a gig in Miami, and they'll be doing a few dates in the northeast US before resuming their European tour.

As for last live music I heard live, I sing in a large choir and we are awesome.

Funny about you seeing RUSH, when the only way I've seen them in Canada is on television!!

Saw Heart last Friday night and they were great. New album material is okay, but the old stuff is the best. Ann Wilson's voice is incredibly powerful and musical, and Nancy Wilson is so talented both with instruments and vocals.

The Boogie Men and Rockin' Doopsie filled the double bill at our Mardi Gras Masquerade (formal ball) this past Saturday (26 Feb). The Boogie Men (The Boogie Men | New Orleans' Premier Horn-Powered Dance Band) are based in New Orleans, and with a four piece horn section knows how to bring that New Orleans sound out. Rockin' Dopsie (Jr.) (Rockin' Dopsie | AllMusic) closed the night with their style of Cajun-Zydeco that kept things going all night. The Boogie Men opened, then after the parade went through the River Center, Rockin' Dopsie picked up and finished. After a long hard day of drinking beer, throwing beads, dancing and after-parties, I was beat down pretty bad. It was a great day and an even better night, but I'm glad it's over now because I ain't as good as I once was....
