I think I mentioned before that I have a part-time job driving vintage wedding cars, but today I finally remembered to take my camera along-

This beautiful beast is a 1950s Citroen Traction Avante stretched limo.

Only 9 were ever built under licence in the UK, and our company owns three-the other two being white, and two-tone Cream and Burgundy.
Ain't she a beauty?! [IMG]

I agree with FramerT. Did you reverse the image or did they actually make it that way?

Sweet job by-the-way. Do you have to wear a chauffer outfit?

Relax guys...it came out of the factory as a left hand drive!
I have to wear my own grey suit, but the company provide us with logo-ed ties & chauffeur hats.

I'm not bashing or anything but I think that contraption is just plain butt ugly. It's my American eyes.

What are the little hatches on the side of the hood for ? (I guess you call it a bonnet)

Not too bad a looking car. How fast will it go in the quarter mile ?

They're for cooling the engine TA. Can still get 70 out of her....when I'm in a hurry to get back to the farm! ;)
My favourite one is a 1942 Citroen Light 15; for a 64 year old car, it handles like a mini. It was being serviced last weekend though.

Don't tease Flash. They're for reaching in to get the eggs from the chickens roosting on the rocker box. Straw bail goes in the opened boot and pigs ride in the back.

Well, French init. I mean, look at the doors - pure 2CV. ;)

    I resemble that remark!

My mother had a Deux Chevaux for a long great may years and it was one of the best cars I rode in! That was not a car, that was an Experience!

Manual engine crank? Horizontally split windows, that you had to punch out to open? The headlights were mounted on a tube that swung up and down? The same headlights had a little piece of red plastic on top so you could make sure the light was working or not! 1 gear back, 3 forward? Oh, the gear shift is impossible to describe!

A magnificent car, indeed! I was truly sorry when she sold it!
