WW2 Online had so much promise...but i didn't enjoy it...my video card sucks and made it no fun. I finally found someone else who shelled out almost $50 for the MOH pc game only to find out they can't play it. I know how you feel. Im waiting for Battlefield 1942 for Xbox which goes above and beyond WW2 online..check it out. Im also waiting for MOHAA for Xbox as well...those are my two reasons for buying an Xbox.

Combat Mission is probably the best game out there. The sequel in coming out this November, I can't wait.

Not the best game but some fun is Sudden Strike. It is not realistic at all, but I love sending all those little men into battle.

I never tried WWIIOnline, I just couldn't get past the bugs.

I've had Close Combat 2 and 3 for a while and just got hold of 5. I also just descoverd the joys of Combat Mision and i love it. Can't wait for number 2, and for Stratgic Command.

I've only just got my computer, so I'm just not into games like most of you guys ...

But I did buy a 'joystick' and have loads of fun with Empire's 'Battle of Britain' simulator ( cheap, too ! ).
And after much hunting on the net I've bought a secondhand copy of the old 'Battleground : Ardennes '44' for under ten pounds.
OK, OK - I know it's 'old hat' but if it's about the Bulge - I gotta have it..... [IMG]

Close Combat II A Bridge Too Far and Close Combat III Russian Front. Is there a five or have I mixed up my numbers?

There s a four and five. Four is Battle of the Bulge, and five is Normandy. They were unavailable for some time, but then i see both on Amazon. Five is nothing special. Has a new look but he basics are the same as two. Just a different scenario.

Call me a throwback, but I still love Panzer General II, especially with all the add-ons and downloads available. New life has been breathed into an old game.

I also enjoy Combat Mission as well, but PGII is still my all time favorite.

I do not have many WWII gaming, except that I played both MoH on Playstation. I finished the first one but could never pass the second (bloody dogs, robots and knights... that was not reallistic!) I have Combat Flight Simulator I but I have got any jostick... I crash too often with the keyboard... and I had Close Combat III, the Eastern front. I loved that game! I finished everything except that I could never win Stalingrad part III, nor Berlin... But somebody stole that game!

And my own computer is an iBook, so I do not have games... I know there are few and expensive Machintosh games, hard to get... Damned PC culture!

Thanks for the welcome, glad to be here.

The best place for downloads, new scenarios and new campaigns for PGII is here:

I am totally amazed by the level of dedication and time spent to create these things.

I used to play 'Sudden Strike' and SSF, until I got fed up with M5A1s brewing up my Tiger tanks...

Since then I have become a great convert to Combat Mission, and am looking forward to the Eastern Front version coming out later this year.

The game sucked at that point...c'mon now, walking dogs with rifles? Motorcycle driving zombies? Although the knights were fun when you had the BAR out and aimed for the mouth... Anyway, I thought I was like the only kid in the world with Sudden Strike and SSF....everytime I would look for an online game, I couldn't find one. Any of you still play? Do alot of people still play it?

Ahhh! Some fellow Close Combat III fans! That game is by far teh BEST real-time startegy game ever. Any of you guys get into modifying the data files and campaigns at all?
I have one version of the game where the whole 15-operation (or so..) campaign uses all units from 42-43.
    great stuff...

Well, it does have that strategic map where you can move your divisions around, instead of the linear thing. That's my only problem with part III

Oh, Friedrich. You own a mac. I'm sorry.
(sorry to any mac users- I work in publishing and am forced to use a mac. let's just say I'm not a fan...)

My current favorite is Combat Mission.
I also play WW2 Fighters and I will be getting Strategic Command, because I played the demo and I am thrilled with it. I had West Front and Panzer General 3D, both were decent.
