First thanks for the compliment, second, I take your statement as an unfriendly attitude towards Poland's souvereignty.

Is EC2285 (Romania) still in the game? He might have an opinion on that, too.

    Cheers,

    Indeed,

Germany´s and Hungary´s politics on Poland seem to differ while the latter´s is more aggressive...??

    ;)

And BTW, don´t forget the French and British troops if you thought of getting out of attacking Poland simply by expecting Russian army´s move.
Good óle backstabbing might happen to ya..

While I mourn the loss of Hitler

I will continue to keep an eye on you Stefan.

Once again I would like to reiterate the French and British commitment to defending the free world. There is something better than communism and facism, and that is freedom.

Romania does indeed remain in the game and is keeping a close watch on all at this time. Be assured that any who threaten our freedom will be met with stiff resistance.

    Hey all

Safely back from my trip and ready to resume my position of Il Duce of Italia. I am open to all sorts of discussion.

What Stefan was saying about no quarrel with UK/Fr is that Germany didnt have one at start of the war (so to speak). The UK and FR Declared war on Germany after Germany DOW'd Poland. So technically speaking (if my facts are straight) Germany had no quarrel with the UK/Fr.

    Hope that makes sense?

Good to see you back Mussolini. If Germany has a qaurrel with Poland. Germany also has a qaurrel with France Because France and Poland signed mutual defence treaties France was obligated to aid Poland.

America Will Combat all enemies of Democracy.

    Both

    Communism

    and

    Facism

America has NO interest in Territorial Gaines in Europe.

    Let is also be known,

If Any. I mean Any, European Power, No Matter what their form of Government, attacks and Nation in the Western Hemisphere, America will Cry Havoc.

    President Wendell Wilkie

(Little History of the United States)

The assassination attempt on Roosevelt in 1933 succeeded.

Trouble again struck the Democratic Party when Popular Presidential Candidate Senator Huey Pierce Long was shot dead in Baton Rouge Louisiana.

The 1936 Election was won by Wendell Wilkie

    Wendell Wilkie (1892-1944)

Wendell Wilkie was born in Elwood, Indiana, on February 18, 1892. The Republican party tapped Wilkie, a lawyer and utilities executive, to run against FDR in 1940, even though Wilkie was a former Democrat. Wilkie campaigned against the New Deal and the government's lack of military preparedness. During the election, Roosevelt preempted the military issue by expanding military contracts. Wilkie then reversed his approach and accused FDR of warmongering. On election day, FDR received 27 million votes to Wilkie's 22 million, and in the Electoral College, Roosevelt buried Wilkie 449 to 82.

After failing to unseat Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1940 presidential election, Wilkie became one of FDR's most unlikely allies. To the chagrin of many in his party, Wilkie called for greater national support for some of Roosevelt's controversial initiatives, such as the Lend-Lease Act, and embarked on a new campaign to awaken America from its isolationist slumber. On July 23, 1941, he urged unlimited aid to Britain in its struggle against Nazi Germany. That same year he traveled to Britain and the Middle East as FDR's personal representative and, in 1942, visited the USSR and China in the same capacity. In 1943, Wilkie wrote One World, a plea for international peacekeeping after the war. Extremely popular, the book sold millions of copies and helped to bring the U.S. out of its isolationist slumber. Also in 1943, together with Eleanor Roosevelt and other Americans concerned about the mounting threats to peace and democracy, Wilkie helped to establish Freedom House.

In 1944, Wilkie once again sought the Republican presidential nomination, but his liberal progressive views gained little support due to the rightward shift of the Republican party. Wilkie did not support the eventual 1944 Republican nominee, Thomas Dewey.

After surviving several heart attacks, Wilkie finally succumbed, dying on October 8, 1944 at age fifty-two. ER in her October 12, 1944 "My Day" column eulogized Wilkie as a "man of courage [whose] outspoken opinions on race relations were among his great contributions to the thinking of the world." She concluded, "Americans tend to forget the names of the men who lost their bid for the presidency. Wilkie proved the exception to this rule."(1)

Couldn't Roosevelt have died of a heart attack or something? In my opinion the murder of a democratic party president, AND then the murder of a democratic canidate for president would greatly damage the image of the republican party causing them to lose the election.

its not like it was the Republicans that killed both of them.

FDR was killed by a working class communist. (go figure, didnt realize FDR was actually his greatest ally)

And Long was killed by a southern Dixiecrat trying to keep the old social structure in the southern states.
