Call of Duty is an excellent game, both graphicly and in its gameplay. However, there is something wrong with that game, that almost makes it undesirable to play. Many of you might feel the same way. It is the most disgusting thing to see a Russian sweep through a room and anihilate 6 Germans with half a magazine from his Ppsh, without being wounded. That weapon is ridiculous in that game. The user moves so fast, and fires so quickly, that is almost impossible to kill a person armed with one. Only a handful of times have I been in a game when a German team defeated a Russian team. Most of the time if I am on the Russian team I choose a rifle, just to be romotely fair. Does anyone else have a problem with the unfairness of that weapon.
It is VERY good in the smaller maps like Harbor, but for anything other than very close range, they are useless. Like on Pavlov.
Right on! That damn gun is so annoying. I've often been playing CoD and not only are the Russians running around with it the Germans are picking it up and shooting with it too! Good that you're playing with the rifles now. That's the mans' ways to play Someone with a PPsh running at you from a middle distance shouldn't stand a chance as his accuracy is rubbish and his damage isn't half of the K98. You've got a second or two to put a rifle round between his eyes! Duck or go prone and take aim, satisfying! Close up, I tend to fire once and then run at him with the rifle butt swinging hoping for the best but you're probably dead meat. In my experience playing with a rifle means that you should be hanging back a little, not sniping but supporting your own team members who will have the semi-autos. PPsh is for nOObs, I agree it's a little powerful on the close quarter maps. I've been told that in real life the barrels bent if you fired them for a protracted period. But hey, it's a game
Yes nothing better than hitting a PPSH wielding abuser with one rifle shot. Quite satisfying. Cheers, Hok;}}}
Ok, maybe so all you said, but it's probably THE most inaccurate weapon plus all 71 bullets are pistol bullets. Personally I hate using them, and I find them easy to take out. What makes me angry is a huge server where there are too many damn nades being thrown around. Once I just respawned, walked one inch, and kaboom.
yea that ticks me off also, and the way the guys jump around and never walk or run they always JUMP it's liek AHHHHHHHH!!!
I play Retrieval games- usually on the Rifles Only TRT server or the Rifles Only GWF server. Very intense games, let me tell you. I go under the name: LRDGRat
I have several aliases Currently I'm Using Pvt. Davey be mindful though, i might give myself a promotion Anyone want to start a Clan for the WW2 FOrum members? Might be fun.. Cvm
I don't mind the ppsh so much. It is a very devastating weapon, but it's realistic. I think one on one at close range the ppsh is brutal to go against, but if you have a good squad of german players with mixed weapons and some room to work, the game evens out. The longer range weapons like the Kar98 and mp44 will thin out the sovs before they get to close to do any heavy damage. But that's just my opinion. Oh, and if you ever run into a player named Sakuraba it's me.
I like Rifles only games (the TRT Server) since there are no crosshairs and a lot of action is long ranged. No PPSH clearing out a room or anything. Close combat is very interesting - crack shots and melee attacks. I now go by the name: ::ULA::LRDGRat which might soon change to [HuD]LRDGRat I am thinking of creating a clan called HuD (Hoch und Deautschmeister [or something along those lines - forget it exactly]) which is what the Austrian (german) 44 ID was called after its heroics at Stalingrad (where it was wiped out) after having fought in Poland and France. It was then reformed and fought in Italy, Hungary, before surrendering in Austria. [ 21. June 2004, 12:26 PM: Message edited by: Mussolini ]
