What sort of action? Attacking Kosovo again, or attacking politicians in Serbia, or Albanian? How would they do this? Do you know if they have support in the army or do they have their own weapons etc.. ?
They pose as a counter-weight to the Albanian paramilitaries, I don't have much information about them right now. All I know is that the Macedonian police confiscated a few AKs, grenades, and mines in a home in Kumanovo two months ago, a town near the border with Serbia, which was said to belong to the "Tsar Lazar's Guard". I have no info about their connections or suppliers or anything...
There was a documentary on tv here a few months ago. They posed in uniforms with flags. They had a rather mild speech for tv, even though you could notice they were censoring themselves and reminded me of the HitlerJugend.
It feels nice to hear someones opinion on the current situation and matters, whos actually from that part of the world. Thank you!
Yes that's what I told. Not only Konigstiger is from the Balkans, but he has some really interesting things to say that we do no always have with our own media.
Thank you for your warm welcome. Back to the subject... Two days ago the Kosovo prime minister Hashim Tachi was asked if he feels responsible for the war crimes committed against the Serbian population in Kosovo in 1999. His answer was "I'm very proud of my past and the past of my people, who together with NATO reached its goal."
He knows the West will close their eyes, so why shouldn't he boast . I don't know what he is proud about . Is it when the Serbs defeated him or when Nato forced the Serbs to withdraw and allow him to do exactly what the Serbs did earlier? There is nothing to be proud of here, whether we are talking about things done by Serbs, Kosovars the UN or Nato. It is just a terrible waste.
WOW...the result of yesterday's police raid in the village Brest near the Kosovo border...200 of these were found, along with 14 heavy machine gun magazines. Note that these grenades are old, but still functional. They were probably kept in those bunkers near the village since 2001.
Scary isn't it? Were people arrested or was nobody caught? I read the results of the Serbian elections again and actually both sides have their chance in February. Obviously the future of Kosovo and the Stability of the Balkans depends on the results
I didn't hear of anybody being arrested. However, the Albanian who was the suspected murderer of the policeman on 3rd January (I mentioned it in one of my previous posts) was killed in a separate incident when he started shooting at the police who were trying to arrest him. He was an escaped prisoner sentenced to 10 years in jail for raping and robbery. About the elections...11 days and counting
eleven days! I just hope Serbia won't be another Kenya! Curioulsly nobody talks about Kosovo on the news. Wonder why..?
Wonder why...well it's relatively calm in Kosovo these days compared to...say... Iraq where people get blown up at random each day
Apparently I have missed a TV documentary about the two opposed paramilitias. I was just reading about it on a Macedonian forum, the leader of the "Tzar Lazar's Guard" had said that he commands a force of 150 000 well equipped soldiers (looks a bit too exaggerated, doesn't it? ) ready to assault Kosovo at any time. He had also announced that his Guard will wave the Serbian flag on Shar Planina (the mountain that lies on the border between Kosovo and Macedonia), sparking the Serbian nationalism about Macedonia, since many Serbian nationalists claim Macedonia to be Serbian land. On the other hand, the leader of the ANA (Albanian National Army) predicted that Albania will unite by 2012, including Western Macedonia, Chemeria (in Greece) and some territories in Montenegro.
If we listen to these so called WarLords we have another four years of peace if not less. Greece is in the UE and if they touch it, Albania is going to get some serious trouble with Nato too. The figures seem exagerated but Kosovars are poor fighters anyway, so the Serbs who are often experienced veterans will start the whole scenario once again. it's seems endless.
