According to the July 31 report, the military “cannot fully account for about 110,000 AK-47 assault rifles, 80,000 pistols, 135,000 items of body armour and 115,000 helmets reported as issued to Iraqi forces.” US Cannot Account for 190,000 Guns in Iraq: Report - CommonDreams.org
The constant stream of incompetence of what is going on over there, really is unbelieveable. I still fully support the war effort and all the soldiers over there but; this is unexcusable to the fullest! I think many heads should roll because of this. I'f keep posting this particular smiley; if my fingers were not starting to hurt. :no-no:
Before jumping to conclusions here is an excerpt from the actual report: Looks like they were too busy doing more important things like training and equiping the Iraqi Security Forces instead of keeping records. Not too many of them left. Most of them have since came to the Coalition Forces for help in fighting al-Qaeda.
I am afraid somebody got a lot of money here and the guns are...perhaps in Africa, just a wild guess, but far from Iraq anyway...
