I've heard it many times, the unit of measurement in distance that's used by the military (U.S. others?). How exactly is it spelled and how long is one Click/Clique in relation to a mile?

    Thanks

A click is one kilometer, which is .62 miles or about 1094 yards
One mile is 1.6 clicks or kilometers.

I don't know the etymology of the word, but I guess it is play on word kilometer.

Entirely correct, a click is recent jargon for Kilometre (km) = 1000 metres.

    One mile is 1.609 "clicks".

But in civilised conversation just avoid the word...

    I thought it was Klick.
I thought that's how we said it but we never wrote it down.

Yeah I know how many meters it is :p

    Thanks for helping everyone.

And I don't use it in conversations anyway. If I were to use it it would be in paintball or airsoft, now that I know the actual distance, lol.

Clique = conjuguated in French. You would use it as an order , so it's at the best the French equivalent of Clic in English. Besides the word "clic" is also in the French dictionnary and it says it has the same meaning.
