A high regard for the mother? What's so nice about the Kinder Küche Kirche concept?

I wouldn't fret, there are still people here who think Thatchler was good for the country.

the weird thing is that many actually were both in nazi germany and the USSR and yet some consider those times the best there ever was. However some people did prospect alot and that could be seen as the reason why they liked it, yet living under dictatorship fearing that there is someone knocking on the door to take you to the camp...

    yes, truly weird.

A coin has two sides. That's what I've learned in 15 years as a journalist. The important thing to note is the context of the story. Whoever wrote the headline is playing on emotions to get more readers to read the story. It was given a "spin". If the headline was "3 out of 4 Germans think Nazi rule was mostly bad", would the story provoke the same reaction out of us?

funny world isn't it ? so both part of the Germans and the Russians are nostalgic of their WWII leaders..... I think this is something to worry about.

You have a point but the original article did state that a demographic analysis of the poll showed that those that had something good to say about the Nazis were in the older, more senior bracket whereas the majority of those that had nothing good to say about it were the guys born a few years after the war.
Since the older guys are mostly retired and out of potentially powerful positions to affect government policy and the younger guys are the ones who are the current doers and shakers, the probability that something bad will actually come out of this is extremely low.

Nostalgia can sometimes be selective. We're all guilty of remembering the good memories and burying the bad ones. It's human nature.

Let's not forget either that some nazi changes weren't particularly nazi - murdering disabled babies for example or abusing foreigners, attacking the working class and mega-subsidising the rich . . .er am I back to Thatchler again?

I don't trust any poll results unless I can read the exact wording of the question and available answers. So many times leading questions are used to try to shape the outcome and specifically worded answers are provided to add to the subterfuge. Its like asking "do you still beat your wife?" and giving you only a yes or no answer.

“High regard for the mother' under the Nazis.” “Family, children and motherhood, which were supported in the Third Reich, were subsequently done away with.”

A coin has two sides, indeed. Eva Herman paints a rather glamorous picture for us to gaze at, but here is a grotesque contrast of reality to their respect for motherhood:

This is a photo of Jewish women, some of whom are holding infants, and children who had been forced to strip and then wait in a line to be murdered by Ukrainian auxiliary police, an arm of German forces. Documentation: Democide: Nazi Genocide and Mass Murder. Source: "The Undeniable Holocaust." From Main Commission for the Investigation of Nazi War Crimes, Warsaw, Poland.
