I was thinking of the wreck in front of the Matilda. The one behind the Grille looks like ..... another Grille, while I would agree on the 150mm bore the barrel looks way to short for a SwFH/18.

No access to books so an easy one ...

I also noticed that barrel is short, but it also looks broken. So, being that it is in repair shop, I wouldn't be surprised if it's barrel has been broken.
BTW photo and vehicle models are from Isaev's book on Balaton battle. Numbers painted on tanks are from soviet commission report, on which, among others, this book is based.

I was very surprised some years ago when saw this fella in my city military museum. :)

OK, since there is no interest in this one, answer is Pz If, or Klein Tiger.
Small batch was made, only 2 were preserved, one is in Kubinka museum near Moscow, other is in Kalemegdan fortress in Belgrade.

Appears that there is a thread already about naming tanks.

Please look in the <Search> option to prevent posting of new threads about topics already in discussion.

Very Good tank picture as well.

Is that the Soviet Amphibious T-37?

Please take a look at this action photo and identify the tank down the street.

    Thanks for listening in advance.

How can you identify a blob? The turret looks like it's offset to the right, this, together with the helmets make think a Japanese Type 95.

    Yay.

I'll let TiredOldSoldier go ahead though (if he's right of course).

The "blob" tank is clearly defined on my computer.

Maybe if you change your display properties to 1280x800 on your computer screen, maybe it will be more clearer.

You ARE correct in the turret being off-set to the "port-side" of the vehicle.

That is a very GOOD hint to the type of tank. But definitely NOT the Japanese Type 95. The tank in the picture is point AT the troops in the foreground.

The image is 150 x 256 pixels, no matter my screen resolution (currently 1920 x 1200) the "blob" is still less than 20 pixels wide!! I imported the picure in PaintShop and tried to ennlarge it but there's just too little resolution.

For some unscrutable reason I was assuming the defenders to be Chinese, if Japanese the most likely hostile tank is a T-26 that also has a massive turret like the blob. I picked the Type 95 as "best guess" because of the offset and setting, but the turret size compared to hull looked wrong.

Looks Japanese but the writing seems to be European.

It is European, there are not many ways to shape an AFV that can float.

    It's French

Apparently it sank during a demonstration so the designers went back to the drawing board.

I thought it might have been because of the size of the turret, but I have not nor can I find anything about this. Grrr... I will look some more before I give in.
