    That would seem to be a Pz II ausf j (vehicle 31/221/4 in action at Slutsk) :)

    Nope, but you're close :p Only a couple were produced and they were much better than the original version of it (even if it still was horribly inferior to the tanks of the front line)

    I got no better answer sorry, it's definitely not a 'G', 'H', 'L' or 'M' as all those models have the lower front and rear corners of the turret chamfered in (except in the 5cm turret trials);

    Pz.Kpfw II Ausf J - planetArmor

    What I originally thought it was was a Pzkmpw I Ausf. C VK601. Either your source used an incorrect picture or I'm wrong... I don't know. I'm passing this up to the first person to post :p

    Sorry Cheef - same issue with the 601 - it has distinctive chamfers on the lower corners of the turret (and also only a single vision slit in the glacis).

    Someone else best jump in though - I can't currently post pictures, not sure why yet... :)

    Is that a Heuschrecke 10 also known as the Grasshopper?

    Wait it is the Pz.Sfl. IVb.
    During WWII the German Army developed a range of proposals for self-propelled howitzers seeking to meet a set of quite exacting (and changing) standards. One such design was the Pz.Sfl.IVb, which was designed by Krupp using on a shortened Panzer IV hull and armed with the 10.5cm le.FH.18 howitzer. Like many other design proposals the Pz.Sfl.IVb (Sd.Kfz 165/1) was purpose designed and relatively complex. It included an open topped turret that could traverse 70 degrees, and many unique chassis components such as six road wheels. Eight Pz.Sfl.IVb were built and assigned to 16 Panzer Division for troop trials on the Eastern Front. In the end, the Pz.Sfl.IVb, like with similar proposals, did not enter series production, but rather the le.FH.18 howitzer was mounted in the Wespe, which was a simpler and expedient design.

    Your second guess is right, while the turret did look like the grasshopper I knew (below) the six roadweels were puzzling. It's correct name is a mistery, all the series are labeled Sdkfz 165/1 AFAIK the "shortened" is called Gw. IV while the long chassis ones are Sf. IVa and Sf. IVb

    Very nuce work anyway! your go, finding good ones is getting harder and harder, when something as esoteric as that one lasts a few hours.
