Hi. I've posted a few pictures. Thought someone could help me identify where and possibly when these were taken. Thanks

I have seen some of these somewhere before, especially "the new management" one. It appears to be 1945 picture of a former German Caserne. I would be tempted to think about Germany , but the Architecture makes me think of the large Casernes in eastern France too.
I remeber it was thier final destination, so May 1945 ?

Is the General with the lady Ike?

The Adolf Pictures seems older, probably pre-war. Is it with Chamberlain. It would be interesting to compare who was present at the 1930s conferences (compare their clothing etc...) It looks like an expensive palace . It could be Münich 1938, but that's only a guess.

I will try to look further. For the Ruskis you 'll probably get some herlp from our favourite Red Rabbi and Slon.

Glad I could help. I'll keep on looking for more. On the same site you have many more famous pictures. Don't hesitate to have a look at them there may be some more surprises.

Hitler is obviously speaking with Chamberlain, the Brit Prime Minister, certainly with the help of an interpreter. The young man with an awful suit must be some other German Foreign office official.

As for the two Soviet gentlemen it will be more difficult, the Red Army had thousands of generals...The picture quality is very good, where did you get it so I can have some clue?

Anybody know if Adolf truly could other languages than German? I recall reading on his life that he learnt during WW1 French and that he also could speak English (perhaps learnt in youth)....

That would make the interpreter more or less a method to get time to think of an answer to suggestions by Chamberlain for example...

"Hip! Hip! Hooray! The Jeep Shows are on the Way!" was the hue and cry as Mickey and the gang took the entertainment as close to the front line as possible. Ten Jeeps transported the 40 performers and musicians. Harry James' brother, Jimmy, was the bandleader. In addition to Rooney and actor Bobby Breen, there were five variety acts, including another magician, Jim Conley. As the Allied Armies cleared a path from Normandy to Paris, the performers worked their way around Southern France, entertaining the First, Seventh, and Ninth Armies. During the Battle of the Bulge — when the U.S. Army broke through the Ardennes Forest and the enemy at Bastogne surrounded the entertainers — the Jeep Show troupers were rescued by none other than General Patton's Third Army.

The pictures say 'not for publication' on back and the belts were in a box marked WW II but could be other military. Any idea?

first one looks like a blown Sherman winter of 44-45

The landscape looks like the Ardennes landscape to me. The snow makes me think of the Winter too. The blown Sherman could have been destroyed during the Battle of the Bulge. The other picture also shows a muddy hilly area with architecture that could be the Belgian Ardennes but I'm not sure.

well Christmas trees, hills, natural stone houses, muddy roads... many hints that show an after the battle photo session in the Hamm-Bastogne-Eupen area... Maybe we should have been profilers?

I'll bet that Sherman had the bad luck of getting in the sites of a Panther. Or worse.
