Surviving Waffen SS Knights Cross Winners

Just as an update for everyone ,

Senior Waffen SS Knights Cross Winners still alive are SS Obersturmbannfuhrer Siegfried Brosow from Das Reich and SS Obersturmbannfuhrer Eberhard Heder from Wiking and SS Obersturmbannfuhrer Fritz Darges from Wiking Panzer Regt ( was also one of Hitlers adjutants till the fly incident ).

Also still alive to my knowledge via the OdR and veterans organisations,

You don't happen to know anything about the state of memoirs of Fritz Darges?

I don't i'm afraid last time i had contact with him he was in the process of writing them but age he's 94 and ill health were catching up with him so i have no idea if they are finished or not.

I know that he no longer corresponds due to the above reasons,

Sad to see a shrinking lis of these guys. I never got around to writing them all but I did several on this list.

Im especially glad to see that Soren Kam and Rudolf von Ribbentrop are stil around. I remember Remy had such high regards for Soren and was great friends with him. My few contacts with von Ribbentrop were always fulfilling and I saw him as a Gent along the lines of Baron Burkhard Frhr von Mullenheim-Rechberg. (for those who dont recognize this Gents name-he was the 4th Gunnery Officer on the Battleship Bismarck.) This Gent refused to do the stupid Hitler salute.
