    1. A member of the merchant navy bobbing around in the ocean after your freighter was sunk by a sub. Is that a shark fin in the distance?

    2. USAF tail gunner on a daylight raid over Berlin. Casualties in bomber command were excessive and horrific.

    3. A Japanese soldier anywhere near the action. No food, disease, life expectancy of 0, brutal commanders.

    4. Anyone, civilian or soldier/airman, on the eastern front.

    5. In Leningrad. Or a concentration camp.

Would want to be in Berlin when the Red Army was banging on it's doors their BM-14s, but you'd only have to worry about that if you survived numerous bombing raids carried out by the British. Stalingrad was in a much better position to be reinforced, Berlin was surrounded and then basically exterminated. Honestly i would have taken the spiritual Nazis over the barbaric Stalinist rule, Albeit two hells one just that one you might have a chance to survive in given you weren't classified part of the jewish plague as Hitler so elequaintly put it.

Oh, this is a toughie. Many places I would not want to be.

    - In Stalingrad as a POW
    - In a concentration camp
    - In Hiroshima or Nagasaki at the time of the dropping of the bomb
    - In Dresden or Rostock during the firestorms

Too much to choose from. I may as well and join von Poop and stay out of war.

Too easy: any jew in auschwitz of course.

But also, i wouldn't have wanted to be Stauffenberg in the moment when he heard at the radio that hitler was alive. i can't imagine something more shocking... he must have thought that the devil himself had brought hilter back to life.

Oh man, cold and starving and making a foot march into Siberia. I'd rather have a Soviet put a bullet in my head.

Any of Hitler's "fortress's"........fight til the last bullet.

The first wave on June 6.

I would not want to be on the "recieving end" of any of the wars largest most worst artillery barrages: i.e: Tobruk, El Alamein, Bastogne and any on the Eastern Front etc. Also, I would not have wanted to experiance the hell, that was the BAttles for the Hurtgen Forest.
