Should we call the Germans and Japanese Krauts Jerries and Japs? I know how much we (and they) suffered, but isn't it kinda mean? Do you agree or disagree?
I haven't seen anyone use Brits, Canucks,(I might have used that one,) Aussies, Yanks, (and I could go on) , and other than in quotations, I see no purpose on using those terms for the Japanese and the Germans. I can see if someone grew up, or went through the war using those terms, but for me, those terms don't serve a useful purpose.
We do call the Brits Brits and the Yanks Yanks over here… not all the time, but we do. Krauts, Jerries or boches are not insulting, that know, nor is it Russkies… But I'm not entirely sure…
Well,I would kinda find it offending. If somebody walked up tome and called me a Kraut, I would be mad at them.I mean, the war is over, and we shouldn't keep on calling each other names.
I would equate calling a German a Kraut or a Frenchman a Frog to calling a Mexican a wetback or Vietnamese a slope. Later
well, i dont really care ether way, im not one to get hurt by names. if they where trying to piss me off, id get mad just becuse they where trying. but to say it in a forum, with no1 trying to make fun of any of them, i see nothin wrong with it. lets go ahead. no1s hurt, and if they are, they shouldnt. its just some term.
