It was ok. More about underground espionage than war action. One interesting note is how they portrayed one SS officer as evil incarnate in one hand and then a gentle and fun person on the other. Interesting. Worth watching but not buying.
It is interesting that you brought that point up, if you have viewed Linda Hunt's narrative of Auschwitz, Inside the Nazi State, they portray the Camp Kommandant, Rudolf Höss as a loving husband and father but brutal engineer of the Death Camp. Hans Gudegast has an interesting viewpoint from a psychological perspective on how people could be caring to some yet brutal and evil to others. I thought it was a good film rather than an action movie but thanks for your response.
I've seen black book. Was an ok movie, I found the end the most interesting. Gives a good idea of how scores were settled with collaborators (alleged and real) during the liberation, and how some commit some terrible crimes in celebration of getting rid of nazism's terrible crimes. Makes you think... not worth buying though imo, it's not one of those movies you could watch over and over (a bridge too far anyone?)
