I think its silly that just because Tom Cruise is in it people automatically say its going to be bad.
I don't care too much for him but, he did make a few decent flicks. The Last Samurai was a pretty good movie even though there was an anti-US Govt message in there. The action scenes were great.
Just wondering why on Earth Tom decided to do this "movie" and how is he going to get the people in the theaters? We all know how it ended.
Indeed, "we all know how it ended"...but I would guess that 95% of the American film-going public doesn't know a thing about the plot to assassinate Hitler. It will be a "Tom Cruise" draw to get people in the seats. IMO, Cruise is a good actor...he was fantastic in The Last Samurai and whether the film is good or not will definitely depend on the screen writers...:2Xpray:
As the director as done some good films I will go just to see how good it is and how accurate it is. Tom Cruise is off his head but he has done a couple of decedent films, we will see if this is another.
Sorry, maybe I am too much of a cynic. Just can't see Cruise pulling it off. The message was kind of fair really wasn't it though
Looks like a good cast for Cruise to have to compete with though: Valkyrie (2008) - Full cast and crew Wonder how David Bamber will fare as Hitler, always an interesting 'role'. Cheers, Adam.
Hi Richard, fully agree w/ ya mate. As for accuracies for it--I dunno. I've only seen one other picture from this movie that was posted on a thread at: JWMB - The Original John Wayne Message Board! and I looked at the details on his uniform and, they were spot on -- coming from a Mil Collectors point of view ;-))
Hi Stefan, I can't fault you because of how you might feel about it. All I said was that Tom Cruise or no--im still going to watch it because it's a new war movie. ;-))
I guess it´s taking a bit of time before the release... Tom Cruise's 'Valkyrie' bumped from 2008 summer release Dec 18, 2007 The actor and his United Artists partner Paula Wagner were hoping that the film would be ready for a 4 July release, but expectations failed to meet the reality, as now it appears that a battle scene in the flick is left to be shot.. Cruise and Wagner have reportedly told Singer to take as much time as needed to shoot the important shot. The director now hopes to complete the film in February (08). Hi Kai, thanks for the updates for the release. I have yet, one more release update for ya. I heard just today that it will now be released in Octobet of this year.
While, I'm not a big Tom Cruise fan (though I think he did a good job in Rainman) I still am looking forward to this movie whether he is in it or not. Watching the trailer I think he did a good job (but then again that is only a trailer and not the whole thing). From what I understand it's going to be released in the middle of awards season (for next year). Wonder if it'll win anything. Hope so.
