I found this in a book i was reading its quite interesting about hitler Quote: Although Hitlers name is synonymous with Nazism, if you consider the name of the party, Hitler was not a Nazi in the true sense of the word. The term stood for NSDAP, National Socialist German Workers' Party. Hitler was not a nationalis; his willful destrustion of Germany toward the end of the war proves this. He was not a socialist, as he killed off the Socialists of the Party during the Roehm purge in 1934. He was born in Austria therefore he was not German, and he never was a member of the working class.(end quote) quoted from World War 2 4139 strange and fascinating facts pg 260 (Hitler, Adolf (1889-1945))
Hitler was a nationalist, read Mein Kampf and you'll only see glorification of Germany and the German people. As for not being a socialist, again Hitler made a strong effort to shape Germany through social engineering, creating make work projects, firing up the industry through production of war materials, setting up a welfare service, protection of motherhood, etc, etc. He was born in Austria but in WW1 he refused to serve in Austria's army and instead went to great pains to get himself admitted to the Bavarian Army, which unless I'm much mistaken, belonged to the German Reich. I suggest you stop reading bullshit and start reading proper history books.
here we go again ok then just because he didn't join the austrian army dons't make him german, sure he did strive to make a better germany until the end then he was hell bent on destorying it eg. a three front war. And he only went to germany beacuse he knew germany was the only country that would strive to redem its self from the loss of ww1, and or they were waiting for is for someone to lead. he wanted war from the beginning and germany gave him the platform. Ok then shall I bring up the german jews, didn't they deserve to live in this great social world your displaying he didn't want glory for germany he wanted it for him self otherwise jew or not it would not have mattered?
Hitler wanted to get back what they lost. Many Germans felt betrayed by their Leaders for stopping the war, because they thought (I don't know, WWI isn't my thing, nor do I know whether it was or not) that Germany had enough to fight a long time and still could win. Hitler joined a National-Socialist group (He didn't started National-Socialisme) he was Number (If I could remember) "555" but it really was "55" (they wanted to fear others with their high numbers). And if you thought Hitler only wanted power, might and money and didn't give about Germany, then I say you are wrong. (Only in War is was a little bit different, since he in that time, wanted to conquer on short period (that's why he sended troops and let them their without rest nor food nor suplies). He gave during the economic crisis people work and money. Yes, he did let Jews die on the streets, because Hitler told the people that they were the reason of all the bad in Germany. He really did organize many things, he really did give about them (German Speaking). The others not, because that was a part of National Socialisme. And the typical thing when speaking of Hitler.. "And what about the Jews". Jews were Jews, Germans were Germans and Animals were Animals. If you were a Jew then you had bad luck. Many Jews flew out of Germany, not many countries took care of them.. They didn't wanted them either. Jews -before Hitler started it all- were already blamed of everything and so as the Communists. Hitler recieved pamflets of Racist things. Who to be blamed and everything.
Bit of advice to anyone who's ever been tempted... don't bother, it's really really really really really really really really really really really really really dull. Cheers, Adam. ps. And really really really really really really really really badly written. And really really really really really really really really Uninformative. And never offers the insight one hopes for. Best left under Rosies feet I reckon.
Incredible but true.... "Well, it's wildly popular elsewhere in the Mideast and the Islamic world... so why not in Turkey too?" Winds of Change.NET: Mein Kampf a Bestseller in Turkey http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2002/03/19/nmein19.xml Hitler is a Youth Idol- Mein Kampf is a Bestseller
I thought Hitler went to Munich in 1913, before the Great War even started so how do you come by that fact? So you are saying Hitler went to Germany before the war started as he knew that Germany would loose the forthcoming war and then need a strong leader like himself. mmmmm very odd thought indeed.
You're not kidding! I wonder if it's like Stephen Hawking's book and very few who buy it actually read it... something fashionable to have on the radical Islamic bookshelf in an 'anti-Jewish' context? Either that... or Turkish literature is in a bit of a parlous state...
I feel it's hardly worth contributing to this thread, but WW is of course right. Hitler had failed in his personal ambition to become an artist and hated living in Austria. In 1913 he received some money from his father's estate which enabled him to travel to Munich hoping to join the then-burgeoning art scene there. As usual, he failed in his ambitions but felt more at home in Munich which suited his own ideals of Pan-Germanism - as is well-known, he joined the German Army with enthusiasm on the outbreak of war and felt that this was, in his own words, 'a release from the painful feelings of his youth'. Source for this is Evans 'The Coming Of The Third Reich' but Kershaw covers the same ground in more detail his earlier biography.
I think the book title... "World War 2 - 4139 strange and fascinating facts" Says all you really need to know... about the book and the poster.
he wasn't a pure aryan, now some people think he was part Jewish, I don't know if this has ever been proven though. In The Downfall when the man was marrying him and Eva Braun he asked Hitler if he was from pure aryan descent and he didn't reply, then Goebbels stepped in and said the Führer is the Führer whatever that meant.
How anyone can claim Hitler was anything but a nationalist is beyond me. The central tenant of Mein Kampf is the repeated idea of Volksmeingeschaft. That is, a desire to create an extreme form of nationalistic paternal feeling within the Germanic peoples to the exclusion, virutally xenophobic in view, of other groups, nationalities, and races. Hitler's creation of the Hitler Youth movement, revising education curriculla to reflect a Germano-centric and National Socialist view of the world shows early and concrete efforts to this end. The rampant racism of the Nazi movement is another solid example. Germany already had a degree of socialism prior to Hitler's rise to power. But, it was greatly increased by him after he took power. Many industries were nationalized. Junkers, the largest aircraft manufacturer in Germany was state owned. Unions were reshaped to be little more than political organs of the state rather than barganing units of the workers. Welfare, health care, and many other social aspects of life in Nazi Germany were state run affairs exclusively brough in by Hitler. In addition, the state also implemented programs to push state goals like: Instituting animal rights / banning experimentation and vivisection. Setting up a funding program along with a public awards system for mothers having more births. Pushing vegitarianism and a Vegan lifestyle. The tax system was extremely progressive with the rich drawing heavy taxes. All of the above are very common socialist programs in Western nations and can be seen even today in socialist political orders as goals to one degree or another. As for Hitler's background he was very much from the working class. His father was a minor civil servant and his family of modest means with a very blue collar background. Hitler himself served as an enlisted man in WW 1 not as an officer. Regardless of his birth in Austria, or the Ostereich Hitler obviously connected himself to Germany and adopted that nation as his own. Whomever wrote World War 2 4139 Strange and Interesting Facts is obviously clueless on this subject.
Your latest paragraph somehow makes me think of a record from the 70's, Jethro Tull's "Thick as a Brick".
Agreed, however, Hilter did not discourage this entourage from taking a liking to the life style of the British ruling classes. They even started fox hunting. With respect, don't forget Hilter had an obsession with British Imperialism especially their control of India. He admired the British for this so-called triump because it was proof, in his eyes, that Northern European human was a more advanced being. He also firmly believed that British culture was not dissimular to Germanic culture. God only know what he would of thought of Chicken Tika Masala.
