I'm US -- legal residence is Hawai'i, but I'm based at my sister's in Florida for the next few years so that I can travel at will (and inexpensively) to Mexico, Guatemala, South America... and eventually I'll be heading back west, again... all the way to Japan (again) for a lengthy stay.

Hmm, we would really need to start this poll again, it's no fun without the limeys and it must be frustrating for them to be outnumbered by the Yanks and not be able to participate. :(

Sturm, you have now mentioned the IRA twice in this thread.
What point are you exactly trying to make?
Do you know what the Provisional Irish Republican Army did during 'The Troubles' ?

Or are you getting confused with Eire?

I'm sure he's thinking the IRA went upmarket and morphed into Individual Retirement Accounts Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

About the artifact above, it's from a time in the late XIXth century when the local feeling about Britain went up a bit due to some colonial dealings and a perceived heavy-handed use by Her Majesty's Government of the word "Ultimatum"... :p

Div ye ken the Fenian tha tried tae blaw up a car? He barnd his lips on the exhaust pipe!

Seriously I experiensed the Docklands bombing on Feb. 9th 1996, and it was no fun. There was a truce going on, but the bombing wrecked my holiday in London. We had many bombscares on the underground and even missed my footy match.

It is interesting the the people of Britain have dropped the "Great" from it's name ! I have been using Great Britain when refering to them. Am I not politicaly correct anymore ? Richard ????

Isn't Bastrop famous for some kind of sausage? Cannot remember the name but starts with an 'E'

Repost: Now I remember, Elgin sausage. That's what it was. Though Elgin is just North of Bastrop isn't it.

Yes Elgin sausage is pretty good to eat but not very good for the heart and plumbing. It is 18 miles north of Bastrop. Bastrop is famous for it's pine trees and the State Park.

I am glade Great is still in Britain ! :p
