Yes, I wondering how long it would take you to notice. I had Marcello Caetano sitting on deck, but decided to go with the one I have up now. Do you know who he is. (US members are barred from answering.)

It's not a cigarette he is holding. It is a peice of chalk. He's was a coach, very famous in this part of the world. An "Ursa Major", if you wish.

    Shoot, I ain't that ugly.

We wear baseball caps with a hounds-tooth print on it.

My daughter wants a houndstooth hat just like that to wear on game days, like these babe-o-licious twins who have graced our games for the past two years.

The picture makes their legs look big. Trust me, they are not. At games on TV, the camera always "finds" them at least 3 or 4 times a game, which is a lot when they are panning the crowds.

Best I understand, they never buy tickets.

    Here's another.

My state is Alabama. Try googling >Alabama football bear<

All the lunk heads here in the US would know who he is which is why I asked them not to answer,

    That is an understatement.

The first time I went to my wife's grandparents, I was amazed by their "shrine" to The Bear.

You have to understand the politics of the US. Alabama is a looked-down-upon by most states (except maybe Mississippi, Arkansas). Bryant brought pride to the state through football because he was so successfull with a bunch of scrappy farm boys year after year after year.

He said, "I ain't never been nothing but a winner." It sounds like a bit of bravado, but it ain't boasting if it is true. He never had a losing season anywhere he coached. Even after coming to Alabama in 1957 after they had lost 27 of the previous 30 games (0-10 in 1956), he had a winning season his first year and National Championship on his fourth.

He played at Alabama in the 30s and a good portion of one game his senior year with a broken leg. I guess he didn't ask anything of the boys he wouldn't do himself. Stories abound of the difference he made in the lives of some many boys.

Yes, he is a legend here.
